August 19, 2006 (Saturday): 10:00AM SNMC Sierra Nevada Mini Club is participating in a very cool charity and hosting a MINI Run. ALL proceeds go to Dog Town Canine Rescue check out: www.dogtown.petfinder.com This is a great organization and deserves all the support we can give it.This event has a bunch of really good prize$. The Run starts at Petsmart in Carson City by Lowe's with lunch in Markleville CA and then over Monitor Pass via Highway 89 to Lake Topaz and then up through Gardnerville back to home. I should be able to make this one...leg is healing now and all my out of states trips are on hold! Problem is being laid up so long, have not been able to get out to sell some tickets!

I have received a lot of products so far and will be able to make 2-3 prizes. Meguire's, 303 products, the absorber, invisable glass have been super. Still need to get from Griot's and a british parts maker. We'll see. I am even buying my own raffle tickets for my husband and daughter as they are **** about thier cars too and love to detail them. I hope we can really give our best to the charity too. She is so thankful for us doing this. We will have good advertisement too as I may call a tv station too depending on response. I feel good about this run, it only takes 2 hours and we WILL be stopping for some killer awsome views so BRING CAMERAS!!!!!! Lisa

Hey all...sorry I haven't been able to post lately. I'm still here, just super busy. I've been working ten plus hours a day, so I haven't had time to post. I just now got around to washing the exterior of my car...It's been over two weeks! Yuck! I'll see you all soon.

 

Hope everyone is selling there raffle tickets. The canine friends need your support. The Aug. run should be alot of fun, so please show up.

 

I have received all the products for the prizes. There will be 3 prizes as I have so much to give. I have sold all my raffle tickets plus some of others that have returned thiers. If you don't sell all of them that's ok. Just get them back to me along with what you did sell. Nevada Appeal will be there for photos between 10 and 11 am. I am working on a possible tv news station also. I took the run last sunday and it was beautiful. Only a couple of hours though so not too long of a run.Hope everyone can come. Lisa

 

When do you need the tickets and money turned in? I hvae only sold a few so far...

 

I will be there this time...will keep that darned leg safe (I hope...since I re-injured it the other day just by walking...not bad this time!). having to stay off it, have not been able to get out to sell some tickets but...
have a few verbals for a few and I will buy some too...that should help...pet causes are good!!! Run sounds like fun too.

Personally I like the "shorter" ones better. You get to see everyone, see some great country etc...now i have to stay off I-80....When you left I asked Niello how much for a rain sensor Windshield....$1000! Forget that! If it cracks...bye bye rain sensor!

 

Not to go off subject too much but your'e right Jeff. I ended up getting two new Goodyear F1 front tires a little wider than the back just by 10 milemeters. Very happy with new tires. Then I got a new windshield in Reno too. Did not need an allignment so that's good. I was told ," I drive my car hard" Oh well, all is good now. Will be replacing back tires in the spring 07 with Goodyears as well. The run flats are ok but not really necessary for me. I should have bought stock in rubber and glass!!!!!! The way Iv'e gone through them. Thanks for selling ANY amount of tickets, it all helps. Mail all back to me by August 17 so I can get one big check to Dog Town. See ya soon. Lisa

 

Well it looks like I will still have my car. I don't know where Petsmart is in carson. It would be great if someone could give me directions. Also anyone besides Jeff and I going from Reno. We should set up a meeting place for sat. morning.

Heading south on South Carson Street, look for the Office Depot on your left. Petsmart is next to the Office Depot on Fairview Drive just off of South Carson Street. I won't say "you can't miss it" because it is possible to miss it. But it's not that hard to spot either. See you there!

I hope you intend to stuff enough donuts in your boot to share with your fellow MINI enthusiasts from Carson City and Lake Tahoe.

 

I will of course...Presuming I don't eat them all on the way down! Maybe you can drive up to Krispi Kreme and then we can all drive back...that way we would have twice the room!

Don't forget ...the other Mini coming (so far) from Reno is a Cabrio...maybe fit 6 donuts in that boot!

See ya next week...I just spent the day "claying", using the random orbital polisher to get out swirls, and then laying down a nice coat of wax! Not bad if i do say so myself!

last week I removed the intercooler and sprayed out the insides to remove the sludge build up (used brake partscleaner)...was amazed and an M7 OCC is on order!!! Supercharger runs a lot more efficiently now and yes, I can feel it! REDLINING IS FASTER TOO!
