Just give it a little tug. It will come off. It's the adhesive like ^^ said.

yeah but i don't want to scuff or ruin the pillar.

i'll let the dealer do it and if they ruin it they pay for it.

besides i'm going there for a MINI RALLY and they promised they'd take it off before the pick up of my car.

THANKS GUY

i figured it was glued down.

Just to let you know...it's not glue. It's just an adhesive (like a piece of tape) that is on the inside of the cup holder.

Yep. Just adhesive. Run a piece of dental floss back and forth between the two pieces after you remove the screws to cut through it.

You might need to take off 1/8" of the ends of the screws before screwing them back in so that the pillar will be secure. The screws are longer than the driver's side to accommodate the thickness of the cup holder 'clamp'.

Bring it to the rally and sell it. Are you going to Nelson's Ledges?
