Some of the ppl on this board have some really nice cars besides the MINI. Now if your INTO cars, THIS guys has to have just about the ultimate collection of high performance vehicles I've ever seen one individual own.

I read post from him on another thread, He test drove a McLaren SLK so he did a write up on his impression of the car. What I rember most was he sad the McLaren had to options one was factory painted red brake calabers $800.00 and red arrow soft leather seats I think he said they were like $9,000.00. He also said that in the 10 miles he test drove it he never really got on it out of respect for the dealer. He also said he would have to sale the green lambo if he was going to get it but he though that the lambo handled better.

Yes, that link was in the first post.

I have no idea where he got the money but that dude got some serious wheels. I wonder where he stashes them all since I really didn't have the patience to read 23 pages of posts!

From what I've read on another forum (Exotix Board - great forum by the way), he has run out of room! The guy just bought a brand new 911 turbo, and has to keep it outside . Oh, and if you want really extensive reviews on all the cars he owns check out Exotix Board because he has some on there.

Also, another guy on Exotix Board , "Mike S", who lives in South Africa has an equally impressive car collection (Ferrari 430, Cayenne Turbo, 997 Carrera S Cab, A couple Range Rovers, Touareg V10, Z3 Schnitzer M Coupe, Arnage T, Noble M400, oh...and did I mention a JCW MINI Cooper S ...he has a bunch of other cars, just naming a few off thet of my head ).

Yes, Leno has over 100 cars, many of which are old collectors cars. Jerry Seinfield is the same way. He spent $1.4M for a 20 car garage and has an extensive collection of racing porshces including a 959.

The difference is that these kind of guys are actually car collectors. Instead of collecting stamps, they collect classic cars. Most of these never see the street.

The guy in the that forum has mostly new cars he drives ... big difference. He isn't collecting "stamps" to preserve for the future. Rather, he's just picking up his next ride that just might happen to be a McLaren.

I guess I just like shifting gears while on two wheels and having more HP than a lawnmower.

So wait, I'm confused by the title of the thread, this guy has a Mini as well? Doesn't seem like it from the pics...

Leno does drive his cars though, and works on them himself too

And just remember, even if you are just going on a scooter you should gear up with full face helmets, armored jackets, gloves, boots, etc. If you get hit by a car, or slide down the street, you'll get just as injured as you would if you were on a motorcycle (and with the scooter's steering angle, smaller wheels, slower acceleration/braking you are less able to avoid accidents and control it over uneven surfaces so its best to be prepared with gear).

You will probably need an M1 license, and in any case its very worth taking the Moto Safety Course - http://msf-usa.org/.

Yes some, but I bet he does not drive the true collector cars.

I think the discovery Channel did a piece where he took his Carrera GT out along with a factory Porsche Driver on an oval to see if he could hit 200. The Porsche driver came close (I forget who it was but his dad has the closed loop record in a porsche).

Leno did well up to about 170 and SPUN IT!!! The professional driver was a bit upset and the crew but Leno was like ... "Woot, what fun"

Yesterday afternoon, besides me was a guy in a Porsche Carrera GT. It has to be the most beautiful Porsche ever made.

He was going very slowly in it though. (40 MPH speed zone).

I don't know what shows *you* have been watching (or if you live/work in Burbank, CA) but I've watched a number of shows with him driving all sorts of collectable cars on a regular basis, even his Pebble Beach cars. But hey, when you can show up to work in a McLaren F1 or various other exotics or collectables (as my friends who work in burbank studios often see) driving the steam powered car doesn't seem quite as luxurious I'm sure.

I have no idea what he drives to work but taking a modern F1 car isn't the same as taking a Dusenberg. Some of his cars ...

Stanley Steamers from the early 1900s, ... a two-cylinder 1916 Auto Car, a 1932 Packard Twin Six 12-cylinder coupe; a 1913 Mercer; a 1909 Baker Electric, a chain-driven, two-cylinder Morgan ....

http://www.go-star.com/antiquing/leno.htm

Taking an exotic out built in the last 20 years or his Ariel Atom just isn't the same as a 1913 Mercer. If he does ... GOOD for Him. That's great.

Yep, he does use the Deusy, that was my point. All the cars in his collection get regular use regardless of their age. But thanks for giving your insightful thoughts from "I bet" to "I have no idea"!

Jay Leno was an auto mechanic before his comedy career took off, so I have the greatest respect for him and his cars...

Zac- it's now about wat your dad has. it's about wat you can do
for yourself from scratch without your dad's help. that's wat
makes a true car enthusiast. no help from dad or mom. so finish
school, get a job and show us watcha got.

well, i would be interested in a few shots of your dad's cars. hehehe

Well, he's driven his Hispano-Suiza and that steam-powered monster - on the L.A. freeways, no less!

That's one of the things I like about him - he'll spend tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars restoring a classic car, and then actually drive the damn thing. He's probably taking a huge hit, value-wise, by even starting the car after a flawless 100-point restoration, but he just doesn't seem to care. After all, he's already said "I'm kind of the president of the 'more money than brains' club"!
