"Road candies" that is a good one!!! There's been a lot of talk about Patrick Mini on this forum...but I hear overall they are pretty good. By the way, I love the driving/rally lights...did you get those installed after you purchased your mini or with it??
Found an 02 in Pittsburgh while on a business trip in Nov of 02. It kinda followed me back to Texas. It was an EB/W MCS.
I installed my own driving lights, but would recommend that you have them installed at delivery if you want them.

When I was a kid and watched CHIPs,
John drove a classic Mini Cooper. Ever since then I was in LOVE with the Mini. Always wanted one, but did not want a classic as a daily driver untill the New MINI came out and I had to have one. I still dream of owning a classic, but untill then, I have my MINI... Mine is a 03 MCS bought from Fermann BMW/MINI of Tampa bay. I also wanted a MINI because it was diffrent from the norm.....
We took delivery of our first MCS in May of 02' - one of the first. We bought it at Sterling MINI in VA.
Scooter has since met his place in heaven sadly (burned up - also one of the first of many we are now seeing posted).
Lots of great memories with that one...

Drove my Jeep Wrangler to Indy (2.5hrs) for a long weekend and decided to visit the MINI dealer while I was there to see the MINIs for myself. Bettie was on the lot waiting. She had been ordered for someone else who could not take delivery. I couldn't bring myself to make the long trip home in my crappy Jeep and leave her there without someone to love her. Funny thing was, I had never driven a MINI before making the purchase. I asked the sales women (Amanda was her name) if I could drive one around while they worked up the paperwork. She couldn't believe I had never been behind the wheel.
I brought Bettie home that night and have not looke back since.

It's the one I drive now 2005 MCS Dark Silver Metallic bought from East Bay MINI (NorCal). I've always wanted a classic MINI but I'm no mechanic, so I opted for the new one and I absolutely love it. It's sooo me!...at least that's what everyone tells me

It's due towards the end of August and I'm having a hard time waiting already. My boyfriend has a '74 classic Mini though and we take it out around Glen Ellyn.
Hey...our mini's look alike! And they are neighbors..and delivery dates are close!! Mine is due to sail out of Southhampton tommorrow on the Liberty!! But I got mine from Rachel at Mini Naperville
Got mine about 6 weeks ago from Albany, NY. Been poaching around NAM for quite a while, reading all the pro's and con's. After my purchase, I've been smiles ever since!

Was riding my bike on Hunt Club going south last late summer and saw the MINI club going north. Everyone waved and I thought, I need to get me one of those. Put an order down the following week and waited 4 months for the first shipment of factory JCW with Checkmate to land.
Been happy ever since - now my wife and I do auto-x when we get the itch. By the way, anyone know where I can get my helmets painted to match the car? I want the helmet to be space blue with the wavy silver checker flag.

I had noticed Minis before, but for me, Mr. Bean sold me on the Mini idea. It screamed FUN! When the new ones came out, the Italian Job convinced me that my next car was going to be a MINI. On Halloween 2005, I ordered my first MINI at International Autos in Milwaukee. It arrived December 17th as an early Christmas present (Santa must have thought I was especially good). I've been loving it ever since!
StephJ and minigrrl00, hopefully you are coming to the Ad Agency Run even though your MINIs are still pending. You can always go the counterfiet route! Plus, you can get meet all the great people in the club and it will add to the excitement of your new MINI!

Anyway, see ya there!
I've always been into British stuff - cars, bikes, TV shows. I watched Monty Pythin from when I was a kid, and Mr. Bean's Mini was the car I wanted (over Starsky's Torino, the Dukes' Charger, etc).
I was an MG fanatic way back when, too. I almost bought a couple of them over the years, but just never did, mostly due to (lack of) finances.
I had seen the original Italian Job many years ago and thought (again) that those little cars were so cool.
In 2002, my Dad and I went to an auto show at the Nassau Coliseum, and parked in front of the main entrance were three classic Minis. I almost flipped! I hadn't seen a real one on Long Island before. Just inside were the brand new MINIs. I knew I had to have one of those!
I finally test drove an MCS with all the goodies in '04 at Hassel. I had just bought a new car in '03 so I had to wait a while before getting another car.
Finally, by early '05, I couldn't wait any longer. I went back and drove a Cooper, just to be sure of which one I wanted. I traded in my old new car and never looked back. Waiting 'til '05 also got me a Getrag tranny instead of the Midlands (and an anthracite dash).
At the end of this month I will have had Obie for 2 years, and I am still thrilled every time I look at him, never mind drive him.

i bought mine from a private seller not too far from my house.
actually, it wasn't until about a year ago that i really got into minis. i was still in college, completely broke, so looking at things that i couldn't purchase wasn't on my list of things to do.
it dawned on me one day that i was graduating soon and could buy myself a new car after 7 years of maxima driving. and so i did. it was an early graduation present to myself. i can't wait until i can build and order my very own. mmmmm minis.

About 2 years ago my boss had just bought a CR/B MCS and I asked if I could take it for a quick run around the neighborhood. He handed me the keys and told me "have fun".
Since that day I was hooked and I began saving for one. It took me about two years to save up enough for a decent down payment (I was still in high school) and just as I entered college last Fall I knew I had enough. I began my search all over the area for one I liked which took me another month or so.
One night I was driving around Downers Grove and I saw a DS/B MCS sitting at Luxury Motorsports. I pulled in the lot and took a look at the car. The price was a little steep but it looked perfect. A few weeks later I noticed that the car was still for sale and they took $1,000 off. I put my down payment and drove it off the lot on September 23, 2006. The first picture is one I took the first time I saw the car, and the second is me driving off the lot. Within the next few months I hope to get new rims (the 17" ASA AR2's have caught my eye) along with a CAI, supercharger and crank pulley.
