Scary Thoughts

Just reading Lisa's post in the "Bonding thread", about the Mini wreck, gives me the *****'s. That was the one thing I always feared about getting a Mini...jerks that do not watch the road and simply do not see you! Hey even when I am in the RED Uglymobile (the boxy Honda Element) these jerks sometimes miss seeing you and that thing is hard to miss! I feel VERY defensive driving in my PW Mini since it is almost transparent on the road!

To make it worse it seems that a lot of drivers just "have it out" for Minis

I have even thought of putting in a set of little Air Horns!!! (Kragen has em)

Also I have noticed with my new aquisition (the S) that I am prone to "goose it" myself.

Minis are fun and for there size...pretty safe...but we are smaller that probably everything else (except Motorcycles) Out there

Do not know Linda but my condolances. She might try KBB.com (under finding a car). Ebay has a ton lately or as a last resort, pull into a "respectable lot" (if there is such a thing) and ask for the sales manager. Tell him/her what you are after and they have a huge network they can search and if found....have it delivered!

I mentioned it in the Bonding thread, but this is probably a better place to discuss it...

Hella Supertones are what we Subaru guys use to cure our wussy Subaru horns. Trust me, the Supertone is the absolute best horn on the market, and is much better then the air horns. The sound is very crisp and noticable you want the HL85115 Supertone horn Kit
"This horn is best on open interstates where you want to warn a truck that he is about to run into you. These horns are manufactured in Germany"

Go to www.rallylights.com and order from them.

You will not be disappointed. Also, beware of Hellas on Ebay, they are often time the cheap knock-off carrying the same name that do not stack up.

Even better news! I was informed at the Subaru meet tonight that Summit Racing in Sparks now stocks the Hella horns. So you don't have to mail order them. You guys should buy a couple of them and have an install day.

Horn replacement <as I feared

Well, I found where Mini has "hidden" the horns that I wanted to replace...you have to remove the front bumper and the wiring to the fogs and parking lights!...I guess that is out! Just not in the mood to mess with it!

Thanks anyway Matt
