Who's going to the Race? What days are you going?


Looking forward to this year. I had a blast last year I just got my ticket in the mail. I am going to the Saturday race only. What time is everybody going to get there on Saturday?

 

Man I wish I was going to be here, but I will be with the grandchild in Orlando that week. Ya'll have fun and I want to know all the details.

 

I need the details on getting the car corral and club tickets!

MINIclo and sndwave will be joining us!

 

Just PM'd them to your hubby If anybody wants to take the long way (it's not longer for me but it would be for most others ) to the track, you are more than welcome to come by my house in Pelham. Steve & I will be going down Hwy 11, over 280, down Hwy 43, then enjoying a few twisties while we cut up Hwy 25 to the track.

 

I'll be at the races on Saturday. Good to hear Pat will be there. If Clover doesn't make the race I may have to swing by your house to say hello.

 

If Sndwave and MiniClo show up and ofcouse I'm going to be there and if Louispup comes we would almost have the whole off topic band from the dragon there.
I have the password for the car corral if anyone needs it.

OOO I will be there all weekend long. Friday thru sunday. I'm hoping for a another lap around the track on Sunday.

 

We cannot come, after all. We forgot that sndwave's daughter will be visiting him that weekend.

 

At least we'll have the dragon. . . . .

 

Too bad we couldn't go to the dragon when you all are going. My brother is in a car club up here and a few of us plan to go Sunday the 6th of August for a day trip. The weekend after Barbers.

Maybe we should make a trip down to Florida after the Barbers race.

Hello all,
I have had a few people email me and asked if Nuzzo will even be at Barber's. I checked over on Grand Am website and His team is signed up and both cars will race. I hope everyone can make it out.

 

How early are you guys planning on getting there Sat morn? It seems like last year I either left the house or arrived around 9AM & I was one of the last ones to get there. Does someone have to get there early to stake out our parking spots?

 

Ok my bad. Nuzzo will not be there. I just got a email from him. At this time he will just not be able to make it.

As far as when I will be there I plan to be there early in the morning around 8-9am.

 

Well poo the main reason I was going was to see the Mini race I wish I had known he wasn't racing before I bought my ticket Oh well I guess am going anyway but I really wanted to see a Mini in the race.

Race was fun. Weather was down right freaky. Stiffling & almost unbearably hot during the race then the temp dropped approx 20 degrees in 3 minutes as the race ending storm came in

We met a new Mini (was blue but there are so many blues out I never know the corretc name for them ) from Chelsea who came in his Porsche but saw us & went to get his Mini to show the love. I never got his name but gave him one of my tag cards w/NAM & bamamini info so hopefully he will show up in the near future

Ok now my BIG QUESTION. After reading this mornings paper & now knowing that one of the best looking men on the planet was out on the track during the race I ask why oh why didn't anyone tell me that...

Patrick Dempsey (aka Dr. McDreamy on Grey's Anatomy) was driving the New York & Co. Mustang GT in the race? I mean I had no desire to go to the Paddock because Nuzzo wasn't racing but had I known Dr McDreamy was over there I would have been over in the paddock (hanging w/the stangs ) area so fast it would made your head spin

 

I'll be there today, sniffing about the Citgo team hopefully to see the most intelligent racer out there, (4 masters degrees !) and unlike that other woman racer getting all the attention at the moment, Milka Duno has many podium finishes and wins races, http://www.milkaduno.com/index.html

Do they have those driver's suits at the "pot-belly" shirt store? I need one of those suits to make all the ladies swoon, or at least go "aaawww". Also I get back in time to watch the race live on Speed Channel and Nuzzo is not there. That's crappy. Were there any MINIs there other than those in the corral?

 

 

I didn't go over to the paddock since Nuzzo wasn't there & NO ONE TOLD ME Dr. McDreamy WAS THEREso I dunno if there were any Mini's around.

We only had 6 MINIS & 1 classic parked in our expo area watching the race.

Good New! ONE MINI was on the Track. The BMW's won the parade lap again so I was out on the track with the BMW's. I brought a ticket for their club so they let me out there with them.
The parade lap was slower this year because it was wet on the track while we were on it.

I brought a MINI ticket too and parked in the MINI parking all weekend.
But I did have some BMW Club Members that rode with me because they didn't have their BMW there.
Isn't that one of the good things about the MINI. You can be in many different clubs with it. The MINI club,BMW club, British club, and so on.

OOOO I got to get on Barber's. AGIAN!!
BTW today we had three MINI's and one Classic Mini in the parking. Ofcouse on Friday we had two MINI's in the MINI parking but mostly me by myself on Friday.
