I want more power

Driving home from work I came across brand new EVO which blew by me as if I were standing still. I was thinking how great it would be if our mini's could have that much power out of the box w/o twin charging.

Yes, I know the mini is not a 0-60 car and is known for handling.

With the amount spent on a JCW Kit or less you can get your EVO tuned by Vishnu Tuning which can put the EVO into super car territory. It would just be awesome to know that you have some extra hp on tap.

This is not a thread to compare the two cars but to dream.......

Don't be like that.

I have my Evo 8 and it's cool. AWD and turbo, just add some parts and you are ready to go.My brother even has a WRX(not stock).
My other choice was the JCW MCS, but living in the NE I decided on the AWD and extra set of snow tires.

I can tell you this though, I really have lots of fun driving my fiancee's Mini.
Yes, I drive some really ridiculous expensive high HP cars, but the Mini is just Too much fun . I even get into the waving at other Mini's .As a matter of fact, there are two people with Mini's at my Dealer and 2 people at Ferrari North America that drive them.

There are many Aftermarket places to get more HP. Good Luck.

Don't get me wrong the MCS is a great car with it own character. I know of several guys in the Bay Area the also have MCS along with a Carrera GT, Gallardo, Ferrari plus several more exotics as part of their stable of cars and they love driving the MCS..........it just that it would be nice to put a 'smack down' on some of those unsuspecting cars.

Follow them till they get to a winding off ramp, or any other turn. Then proceed to lay all the smack down you want.

Upon reading the title of this thread "I want more power" the obvious popped into my head, "don't we all want more power."

A coworker just bought a Saturn Sky, not the redline turbo, just a Sky. It made me think about the turbo with 270 hp at around 2700 lbs.

Cars are more than statistics. How do you judge the "fun" factor. I don't know the answer.

I agree, even the MCS is beginning to show its age at 170 hp and a $23,000 MSRP (or there abouts.) Guess supply and demand dictates BMW doesn't need to worry about increasing power.

In the end, it's hard to believe a car could be more fun to drive than the Mini but ????
