OEM Wheel Finish?

Does anyone know the finish of our OEM wheel (silver)?

Is it a powder coat or paint?

Thanks for your help.

wheel color

I scuffed my 02 s-lites and went to autozone with the wheel and match by eye the silver to use. I think is a GM Silverstone metalic that was a dead on match. I will confirm later. From what I can tell the wheels are painted and clearcoated.

Carl, thanks for the reply. I am not worried about matching up the paint rather just what the finish is. But thanks for posting the color match that you found, I am sure that will help some owners out for sure.

It's called Wurth Silver..

DO a quick search and you will find a ton of information about it.

Just got off the phone with MiniUSA and they are going to get the correct answer. As of right now they did tell me it is not paint on our wheels.

They are going to email me more info when it becomes avalable.

So far they are great to deal with!

I have no clue as to what the wheel finish is but just an F.Y.I...you can buy touch up paint in the exact color at the Mini service counter

They are great as long as it doesn't cost them anything. Known defects are not included in those happy emails they send out.

Found this thread - exact question that I need an answer to. Powder coated or painted.

I'm having my OEM Bridgespokes in silver prepped to be powder coated in black. They are having a heck of time getting down to bare metal. I understand that a powder coated wheel can be sanded and re-powder coated - that would save a lot of labor...

Did MINI ever get back to the OP? Any help greatly appreciated - I need these wheels done by winter.
