I am planning on doing my own brake bleed and found a source for a Motive brake bleeder. The one I am thinking might fit the MINI is part # 0100. It uses a cap adapter of 45 mm. Is this the size of the cap?

I spend most of my day dealing with brakes and we have found that the best way to bleed the brakes is the oldest way. One person on the pedal and one person at the caliper. Unless you are truly unable to find someone else would I recommend a pressure bleeder. Great way to bond with loved ones or good way to meet new people or neighbors.

Motive #0100 w/45mm cap is the correct model for the MINI. I have one, works great.

 

Ditto... I love my Motive bleeder... I've spent enough time bleeding brakes the old-fashioned way, and I gotta say, the power bleeder way beats it hands down...

Got to agree with Duane on this one.

Need to flush it? Put a catch pan under the calipers and open the bleeders. Keep topping off the reservoir every five minutes or so. Eat lunch while you're doing this if you want it's that simple. After you've gone through a pint of fluid, close them and give them one or two pump/squirts with a friend and call it a day.

All these tools turn a simple process of fluid displacement into something well beyond how simple it really is.
