Gonna pull the trigger on new wheels AND tires
Hi everyone,
I am going to pull the trigger on a new set of wheels and tires this week, no more run-flats (they are pretty much bald now) for me
As for tires I am pretty much set on 205/50R16 Goodyear F1 GS-D3s, especially with the $100 dollar cash card and Cars movie soundtrack
For wheels I have one question though, I am looking at the OZ Ultraleggeras 16x7 but I noticed that the weight is half a pound different depending on the color, does this makes sense
not to me. and as I might be powder coating them white I figure just get the lighter ones, or is this just a typo (Alex?) I am leaning towards the bright silver ones
btw my car is IB non-S with white roof and stripes and mirror caps
I am gonna order both from tirerack and have them mount and balance and supply locking wheel nuts. Does that mean when the turn up, I will just take the old ones off and put this straight on with the supplied hubcentric ring and torque to 85lb-ft? or do I have something else to do as well
from what I have read on the forums here I shouldn't have any clearance problems with 205/50R16 on 16x7 rims even if I lower the car in the future, that sound right?
oh and for use, this will be for spirited street driving and the occasional track day/autoX (about 3-5 a year)
So basically what I am saying is:
Is this a solid plan?
Thanks a bunch for your input
hopefully some sweet pics in the near future

are you lowered and if so by how much?
just fyi I don’t really want to lower more than one inch and I aren’t lowering soon, at least 6 months away, and I might never if I want to stay in h-stock, but that is a dilemma for another time
using some dodgy (eg making a big assumption) math this is what I came up with:
ur rims are .25" wider on each side than the 7"
.25" = 6.35mm
42-6.35 = 35.65mm
so if my assumption is correct you could fit a 36mm offset but not a 35
I know u have to take some other things into account, but I have an early day at work tomorrow, so I will do that math tomorrow during my lunch break unless someone else gets to it first

I ordered the 15's (montegi tracklites with Pilot Sport Cups) for dedicated track setup after being realistic about when and how why I would get to a BBK. I need seat time, and a good set of rubber and thats about it to enjoy the MINI. The 205/50/15 has the most options when it comes to rubber, so there you have it. Ive been assured that I will have no fitment issues on my JCW brakes (much debate on motoringfile)...should have them in a few weeks (back ordered)
