I'm looking into purchasing a used car from someone who originally bought the car from MINI in Ontario. He brought it to USA, converted the speedo and odometer through a MINI dealer.

However, I asked him to take a picture of the MINI sticker on his door and it looks completely different than MINI USA cars. My concerns

1) Are the cars MFG to the same spec even though final destination is Canada and USA?
2) On the USA sticker, says "This vehicle conforms to all applicatcable US Federal Motor VEhicle Safety, Bumper and Theft Prevention standrads in effect on the date of manufacture shown above.
3) Emmission? Will I be able to pass California emmissions with this car?

I dont imagine that MINI would MFG a different car for a different country, but wanted to see if any of my fellow enthusiasts have any info for me and/or what to watch out for?
