Okay, you've all sold me -- I'm going to buy a Mini!

This is my first new car, so I'm really nervous. Re: color scheme, I can't decide between all pepper white, pepper white with a black top, and velvet red with a white top. What do you think?

Color choice is one of the things that makes a MINI uniquely yours, but of the options that you listed, I think that velvet red with white roof would look awesome.

Take a look throught the photo gallery and see if you like the look of sombody elses. Then try and make it yours by adding bonnet stripes, or not, or roof design.

Consider a white roof with white wheels, just somthing to make your's unique.

Hmm I wonder how many combinations of factory color schemes there are any one bored out there want to figure it out. Remember to show your working! dont forget bonet stripes and roof designs.

Personally, I don't like the pepper white. Out of your options I'd have to agree with the velvet red and white top. This is one of those cars you have to get a little crazy on. All white is too common. My $.02

Hmm...all good arguments. I guess I was trying for a more classic look with the all pepper white -- I'm not really a sporty person so some of the other available colors (red, yellow, blue) don't seem right for me. I'm bummed that the silk green is being discontinued, as that was my favorite color (with the white top). Sigh. Maybe I'll go for the pepper white with the black top -- I saw a photo in the gallery here of that combo with a sunroof and I think it looks v v nice. Keep you posted!!

In my humble opinion, a MINI must have a white top. That's how John Cooper designed them, so they could be spotted in a crowd in a road rally. As far as the body, I find the black or white to be pretty boring and the green is not BRG its BMW metallic but, I do like it. Bottom line, I think the blues and reds look best.

Well, I like the white top a lot, but I want a sunroof, and I think it blends in better on the black top. I'm going to go to the dealership next week and take another close-up look at all the colors.

I see your point....that is precisely why I wanted to go with a black top....because I was so sold on that sunroof!

Definitely see the colors in person - that will make a big difference. I was interested in the velvet red until I saw it at the dealership. It's a nice color, for sure, but it just wasn't quite what I was hoping for. I ended up ordering the last of the mighty silk greens, but ifI hadn't, I probably would have chosen the BRG - I liked the classic look of it, especially with the white top.

Velvet red is a gorgeous colour. Especially with the beige interior. I'd go for the white top, but it'd probably look good with a black one, too. If it was available on the "S," I'd have gone for that combo myself.

The velvet red does look ok with the black top....I saw one at the dealership....but I like the contrast with the white better, especially with white rims to pull it all together. It is definitely a good idea to see the cars in person.....the website is great for mixing and matching but the colors are not true to life.....I would never have ordered the pure silver based on what it looked like on the website...I had to see it in person before I decided! Also some people have posted great pictures in the gallery on here....that might help as well!

Isn't that funny? I too was totally sold on the sunroof which is why I went with the WHITE TOP. I love that the dark tint of the sunroof STANDS OUT with the white roof! I don't want it to blend in!!!

To me, the MINI is all about contrasting colors. The dark silver goes great with a white top. Mirrors are white but the mirror posts are black. And then there is this dark (almost black) sunroof in the middle of the white roof! Awesome! I love it! Where's my MINI!!!

My vote is for the Velvet Red w/White Roof, Mirrors, and Wheels. I just think that now days too many cars are white. Although the Pepper White is not just a regular white and they both look great IMHO. Congrats on deciding to get a MINI
