In 6 weeks (around June 25th) I need help to find good homes for 9 puppies. 8 are black (2 have white tip feet & bellies) & 1 is tan. Mom is 30-40 LBS. Dads are unknown.

The mom is a neighborhood dog whos owner neglects her (obviously or she wouldn't wander the neighborhood all the time around a very busy street & be out wandering while in heat). She comes over to my house every day because she feels safe here & to play with my dog Petey (Petey is neutered so it wasn't him lol). Mom is solid black with big brown eyes. She is an angel & doesn't have an ounce of meanness in her. I was hoping she would have her pups at my house so I can be sure they are cared for but WOW wasn't expecting 9 from a dog her size (actually she had 12 but 3 didn't make it)

So please ask around & let me know if you want a puppy or if you know a caring person who needs a puppy. Frankly if someone with a privacy fence (Mom is a chainlink Houdini & jumper) or someone who lives out in the country wants the mom she is an excellent dog who really needs a good & proper home (& to be spayed).

I am in SoCal or I would jump at adopting one, but wanted to say thanks for taking care of Mom and her little ones. You will get lots of good pet karma for your efforts

you're killing me...I want a puppy soooo bad but I can't afford one at this stage in life. Good luck with finding homes and good for you helping them.

First Puppy Adopted !!!!!

I couldn't have asked for a better family & the adoption story is so great. I arranged to meet the father of 2 children at the vet (where I was taking the pups for their 1st round of shots) today. The dog was for his kids. Well the whole family showed up at the vet & the kids had no idea what was going on so I got to see the surprise on their faces when the Dad said "Do you guys want a puppy?" "Well lets just take one home" The kids were like :impatient

While we were waiting for them to all get their shots they were trying to think of names & they settled in on one & were 90% sure they would call their new pup "Cooper" because when they 1st saw him he was in a Mini Cooper. Hehe isn't that great.

Also my vet had told me he would give me a discount & give the pups all their shots for a bit over $250 but after he met them he only charged me $125 . I have to give great kudos to Cahaba Valley Animal Clinic for that donation

p.s...they gave the puppies small doses of that flea stuff you put on the back of the neck & on the way home I was trying to calm them & got it on my hand then my lips. I had nothing to wipe it off with & my lips started tingling for a few minutes. I guess now I will repel fleas for about a month

I would love to keep one but I don't think it would be fair to the puppy. I carry my dog Petey to work with me every day but I wouldn't be able to carry 2 plus Petey loves to play with other dogs but he doesn't really want them to stay & get any attention from me

 

1 more is adopted, a little girl the couple is going to call Laney. Only 7 more to go

2 more gone A couple came from Gardendale to get one pup & but they couldn't resist the cuteness & left with 2. Down to 5 now

 

You must have pulled the old "get one free dog, get one free!" marketing trick!

 

Well I have been making the people give me a $25 donation check made out to their favorite animal rescue but I told them they could take the 2nd one for free I told them they might get off lighter on WAAAAAAAAAA I'm in a new home since they had 2 that could comfort each other

 

I'm so happy that these pups are finding homes! Great job. I will also send out another email to all the FCDF people to remind them to contact ou if people are looking for some fresh pups!
