The Great Big THANK YOU thread to MOTD06 Organizers & Volunteers...

I had SUCH a great time, I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to all the organizers and volunteers (many of whom I don't even know to thank!) but I know NAM did a lot, DC and Atlanta MINIs did a lot, (I think Jen is ready for a vacation now-?!! ) and I'm sure MINI Clo had something to do with it too ... and the folks at Fontana as well... FIVE HIGH =)

Thank you!!!!!!!

Please chime in and give these folks some praise for a fantastic success!!!
(and mention the ones I didn't as well!!!)

A very big thank you to all the folks who organized it indeed, I had a blast. Thanks also to MiniClo and KoolMini for organizing the "Glowsperms" for the midnight run.

Agreed! This thing went off really well - All of the volunteers put in the extra effort to make this thing work well. I hope they got some driving time at the Dragon! Kudos to all of those that gave their blood sweat and oil!

Irene and I want to add or thanks to the organizers of MOTD’06; great job.

Including a special thanks to Wagnbat for putting the panorama photo together. Good job on timing the rain.

Also, we really enjoy the scenic tour, thanks Aaron and thanks to our 10:30 team leader Rowdy!

It was a really great event!

I hope everyone got a kick out of my surprise at the Farewell dinner and I hope everyone had a great time otherwise. Me, I'm lookin to get back to work and get some rest. It'll be a nice break from running around making sure things were going smoothly.

Oh yeah, I also have 3 hours of car video to edit/author. I'll put samples somewhere when they're ready. It'll probably be a couple weeks or so as I'll be doing it in my off time.

It is so good to hear that people had a good time! Me, it was my first time, and I had a BLAST!! I can't believe just how much I learned about my car and how to drive as well as meeting so many new friends. I can't wait for next year already and I have only been home for an hour! JustJAY and I had such a good time driving..I too have some hand held video of driving the dragon (you can actually "feel" it) as well as some kick butt from the scenic drive as well. (Stay tuned for Agranger's MINI MUD WRESTLING) Sorry man, but I have to post it! What a great story!

It was my first time and I was thrilled! All of the organizers and the Fontana staff did a great job!

I have no complaints whatsoever except if it hadn't rained out for the Creeper Race I'm sure STEVE AND I WOULD HAVE WON! We'll see next year.

I too learned a lot about my MINI's abilities and my own which improved as time worn on. Watching the Auto-X event has perked my interest in trying it. Since there's no place around here to use what I learned I'll have to give the Auto-Xing serious consideration.

I can't wait for next year. What a great time!

That was awesome -- thanks everyone!

Leif and I had a fantastic time meeting people, though i think we unfortunately spent "too much" time in the car and did not, to my chagrin, mingle more... I'll be booking a cabin for next year within the week

Really, really amazing event and REALLY amazing community!

I had a great time and want to thank all the organizers and other volunteers who clearly worked hard to put everything together so well.

I can't wait for next year. Is it too early to start the countdown to MOTD5?

I also wanted to point out the daily updates on http://www.dealsgap.com At the very bottom of their home page, he writes up a daily update as to the comings and goings around the Deal's Gap store and he made a point (a couple of times) about how well the MINI group played with others. Its really nice to see that the locals and bikers see us as a great club and don't dread having us there every year

Thanks to everyone who had a part in making this weekend happen! It was a wild and crazy time. The best part of the weekend for me....I let my darling SO take a solo dragon drive, and after the drive all he could talk about was what color MINI he should get!

First thanks to my wife, Robin for coming. and putting up with my "mini maddness". Thanks to everyone that had anything to do with setting this thing up. I don't remember everyone's name that I met, so forgive me to those I don't mention or leave out.

My thanks goes out to:
Maury and Mike the wonderfull owners of the Blue Waters Mountain Lodge.
Matt and Heidi for all the great talks around the pool table.
Ed and Christian from "Cooper Flags" for the same.
(Special thanks to Christian for making me feel like our future is in good hands as long as there are more young people out there like you!)
Everyone on DCMINI for all the hard work you put into this. It was great meeting Jen, Mike and Melanie (hope I spelled that right)
"Chloe" my little Austrian good luck charm.
Everyone at Atlanta Minis for the "chili cook-off"
Wagnbat for getting the picture together
Tom Clark for my V27 nav. upgrade disc
Sam and Haemish for unlocking my code to view my "3-D" nav screen.
............I no longer know what street I'm on, but I look great getting there
The gang that joined me on my Dillsboro trip, I can still see the line of 30 mini's in my rear view mirror on I-74
"Mr. Bean" for my shirt, it's awesome
Mark Ferguson for all that you've done via this Forum and the Dragon Event
Everyone at Sunshine Mini's for the great Dinner at Nantahala!
Amd finally to the whole Mini community, I had a blast just driving around and seeing all of you!!!

Hear, hear!

For the most part I was amazed at how smoothly the various events and gatherings went, especially given the large number of people/cars. My thanks to everyone involved in making MOTD '06 a happnin' thang.
