Well, it only took 8 months but my sunroof is finally rattle free!!!! Yipee!!! All it cost me was 2 weeks, a new bumper plus various other trim pieces and an angry e-mail to MINIUSA. Replaced on my car were the following parts:
The entire frame
Various one time use components inside the frame
A and C pillar inter-connects
Rear sunroof lifts

All in all an expensive job were it not for the warranty. It took me several visits and 2 rides with the lead service tech at Universal MINI. I had the car back for a week now and no rattle, not even in the 30 degree nights up in the AV. I can't tell you how much happier this makes me feel about the car... it's like I'm in love with ot all over again!

Was your rattle while the roof was open or closed? I'm getting a rattle with the roof open. I got my car from Universal and I don't want to go through what you went through. Any help would be nice. BTW: My rattle doesn't seem to happen all the time. Seems random and not temp. related for me.

My issue was with the roof closed. My rattle eminated from the front, leading edge of the sunroof, inside, in between the headliner and the roof. Univ. tried the soft-sided velcro fix on both sides of the wind flaps, but no luck. It was only after I persisted did they finally take real look and not go with "the easy fix".

BTW how long ago did you pick-up you car? Be sure to keep an eye on you coolant expansion tank. They are prone to leaking.
