Fun Mini Motoring Roads of Greater Chicago

Hello Ladies and Gents,

I hope this is the 1st of many posting from our members. How many times have you found a fun road and wished you could have shared it with others.

I did tonight and am now, in the hope of seeing others do the same.

Archer Ave and Flavin Rd in Willow Springs IL. Head South on Flavin Rd, its a fun up hill set of high speed corners.

I also enjoy the on ramp from 55 east to 294 north.

I look forward to printing off maps from other members.

Be Safe, Dustin

I've got one to share: RT 31 between S. Elgin and St. Charles.

A couple of nice high speed turns and great views of the Fox River.

Sheridan road is one of may favorite local roads.

There is a one way boat launch road in Highland Park that is fun to zip down and up in the quiet off-hours

inbetween gilmer and rte 60...erhart (i think)...

dippy, twisty, turny. great scenery.

even though its very short, i like the on ramp to Petersen from 137 in Libertyville. It's fun going under the bridge at night with no one in front of you (namely, trucks that blow junk out the back of their gates...jerks.)

If you take the Archer/Flavin Road route, you can extend and turn right on 95th to follow around through the Forrest Preserve through additional twisties back down to Archer, back east to Lagrange North ramp and I-55 Entrance ramp back to Chicago.

Route 12/20 from Burns Ditch, IN into Michigan City, IN.

Big Ramps Downtown are all fun-Ohio from Kennedy/Ryan in either direction, Eisenhower to Ryan South and North Kennedy off on Milwaukee, back on Southbound to Ohio East. Ryan off to I-55 to Lake Shore Drive. ALL at proper speed real early or real late so there isn't traffic-fun.

I also am a fan of lower Wacker late at night -windows down/top open provides Good resonance from the exhaust-from Harrison all the way through to Lake Shore Drive, merge up the ramp or by crossing Grand, through the S curve to North Avenue-off and back on LSD to reverse the route. Bonus makes it best when catching all the lights the right way!!
