Stoptech users, your help needed
I was just wondering if anybody with the Stoptech BBK has had any problems with rear brakes getting really hot.
I've noticed on a few track days I've done since fitting the Stoptechs that my stock rear discs and pads are getting really hot and waring the brake pads at a high rate. Am I right in assuming that because the Stoptechs are a balanced kit that this means the rear brakes are still doing the same percentage of braking as they would with the stock front brakes and therefore being over worked?
If so what could I do to solve it, fit slotted rear rotors and harder compound rear pads or maybe a brake bias valve?
I've not had much look so far in trying to solve this as the Stoptech BBK isn't very common over here in the UK, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

They're not being over-worked exactly, it's just that the stock brake pads just aren't up to the task of most tracks. I would change out the rears for some Ferodo DS2500 pads. When you need to replace the rotors, put in some slotted ones.
I have the Stoptech slotted rear rotors with some Axxis Ultimate pads, and they work great! I will probably use Ferodo DS2500s on the rear next as I've heard they're great.
What do you have in the front for pads? I'm using the Brake Horse Power (BHP) XPS pads. They squeal a little on the street, but are amazing on the track.

More brake info
I agree with Strom on the DS2500 in the rear, but only after knowing what pad you are running up front. Personally I would recommend the Hawk DTC-70s. But when you change from your track pad to the street pad in the front it is very improtant to have a weaker pad in the rear at all times. A stonger rear pad can throw the car for a loop. Three major thing adjust brake torque; rotor diameter, piston size and friction.
The other thing I would suggest would be ducting as much as possible. Cooler air of any sort only makes all things better.

Thanks for your replys.
I'm not sure which pads are in the front to be honest. I'm still using the pads that came in the kit, I think they might be the Stoptech pads. I've been using them for street and track and they seem to be holding up really well, they squeal a bit when its cold out. I'm going to give the EBC slotted discs and red stuff pads a go in the rear and see how they cope.
Anybody tried ducting the rears?
