Cooper Tranny Linkage Seems Dry...
Cooper Tranny Linkage Seems Dry...
On my 04 MC, when shifting from Neutral to First and Second there is a dry squeeky noise coming from the linkage underneath the car. Its also a bit tougher to shift to those gears, but not really bad. The transmission has been replaced once at ~7000 miles. I'm now at 42,000. It can be heard outside of the car too.
This has been an issue with my car before, but after like a week of the dealer fixing it, it comes back again.
Any idea where this is coming from?

My shifter cables have been replaced twice since I had my MCS... (120k km).
It might be your problem... Water was getting in the cables and would meke them dry, or worst, frozen in winter. I got the "improved" cables on the second time and it's been ok for the last winter.
