Anybody here running Kumho ECSTA SPT's?

I was told this a relatively new tire from Kumho (non RF). Anybody with any experience using this tire, specifically in size 205/45-17?

Kumho Spt

I have the Kumho spt 205/45/17 on my 2006 MCS mounted to black ASA
AR-1. For me they were priced right from the Tire Rack (my first choice
was Yokahama ES-100 but the Tire Rack convinced me to go with the
Kuhmo). I am very happy with them, low noise and stick good. I would
probably go with another set when these are worn out.

I've had mine for about 5000 miles with no problems. Great price, decent stick, and even wear so far. I'll buy them again.

I participated in the Kumho tire program which toured around the country and let people drive several Mini Coopers around an autocross course for a few bucks that went to a charity. On the day I went it rained almost the whole time, and the Coopers had Kumhop MX's, SPT's, and another Kumho all-season tire. The SPT's were fantastic in the rain, they really surprised me. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them. Few other people showed up because of the rain and we got a lot of laps in.

Hey you lucked out!

Yeah, I've been hearing good things so far about this tire. Can't beat the price, that's for sure. I think I'll order a set.

I wonder if Kumho will eventually jack up the price if the demand for this tire continues to grow. Sure hope not. I checked around locally and many retail outlets are on back order. Tire Rack currently has them available out of their Reno distribution center but were on back order for their eastern distribution.

Does the Kumho SPT handle as sharply as the Yoko ES100?

best comparo i can give u is between my old bridgestone re750s and the spts, so far the spts does everything the re750 in the dry, maybe even out guns the 750 in the dry, but in the wet, the spts loses a bit of composure and u hv to be a bit more gentle with it in the rain
but overall, great tire... a bit noisier than the old tire, but not much

Sounds promising. What sizes were you running? I'm looking into some holeys for the summer with 205-55-15 on an 06 MCS.

I like the Khumos I recently got so far. They worked well on my previous car also. Don't last any longer...
