Technical Service Bulletins

Has anyone tried using technical service bulletins from "ALLDATAdiy" for the MINI?

I don't see the MINI listed on the website but I may not be looking in the right place.

If no one uses or has used "ALLDATAdiy", what DO you use for TSB's??

Thanks,

~Paul

go to:
www.alldata.com/tsb

Click on the BMW listing. Anything with an 'M' at the start of the number is a MINI TSB.

Those are only 2005 and 2006 TSB's where is the full list TSB's issued?

In alldata's words:

"Unfortunately, information for Honda, Acura and BMW is not available to consumers through ALLDATA DIY by request of the manufacturers."

Found the page by accident a few months back when I was looking for a TSB on my Subaru outback, (I forgot the DIY in the url) and then noticed it listed BMW which the DIY portion of alldata site does not.

usaaus, this link is a great source of information! I for one am glad you "stumbled" onto it! My only hope is that the link doesn't get taken offline or have a password put on it.

The link has been around for well over a year, and has been posted on NAM a least a dozen times before, so I don't think it will go anywhere for a while.

At one time though this had all the TSB's dataing back to 02....Now it only has 05 and 06....So I guess all that data has been effectively squelched from the internet?

Why only 2005 and 2006

If you go into the TSBs, some claim to supercede older TSBs. I'm guessing a lot of the older TSBs are still addressed in what is posted.

No they are not.....You will find nothing on that link about the strut bolt recalls for 02's, Nothing on the underhood paint rubbing, nothing about the diode fix, nothing on the PS fan, and radiator fan circuit sharing.....These are all things that were stated on alldata as TSB's at one time! NOW apparently that data only lies with the MINI veterans of this site.

Maybe it is time to start a thread capturing what is in our collective heads that BMW and alldata have managed to purge from the enite internet!

I'll vote for that. Maybe it could be a sticky? Or, a separate subject folder???? But that is definitely something that should be available (and if it were available on NAM, it would be a further differentiation between NAM and other MINI forums - Moderators???).

All the TSBs are there, look at this link, however, you have to click through them all to find the ones you want.

http://www.alldata.com/tsb/BMW/

Here are some links back to older TSBs:

I could not agree more! with alldata aparently trying to lock down this information to make a profit on this information it would really make NAM an unsurpassed resource!

That is an intresting web site (http://web.archive.org)I did not know about. But it still only found the 2004 TSB's The 2003 and 2002 TSB's are still missing in action. So they are not all there.

For the record I said some, not all. Anyways, the hunt continues . . .

Didn't take it that way. I went to my first link, and clicked on a couple from 2002, as it turns out they were for BMWs not MINIs.

Service Bulletins

Thanks for the service bulletin links!

I am going to have a few of these items serviced at my 50K service interval next month. My AC is broken, and I suspect my master cylinder has a hole or a leak cause I hear too much air. Anyway, I'm thinking about hiring an independent mechanic to look the car over before I cross the 50k threshold. I have had a lot of repairs to the car over the 3 years I have owned it.

Any thoughts? Thanks guys.

Trying to search through the TSB today and it looks like you have to pay for the service now... That's no good. Thought I'd share for everyone. Anyone else have another resource?

bump for this thread! I, too, am looking for a TSB source!

I found some free TSBs here but they don't seem complete:

Well, it is not free, but this is what I use:

http://www.eautorepair.net/Marketing/Default.asp

It costs $30 for a one year subscription or about $10 for a ten day subscription. It is a pretty good repair manual as well, as I wrote about in another post. I just checked to see how many TSB’s the site lists for my car, which is an 06 Cooper S, and it lists 180 TSB’s, which seems like an awful lot of TSB’s to me! As a comparison, I have a subscription to ALLDATA for my 06 VW Beetle, and there are only about ten TSB’s for that car.

^ Thanks so much for that info. I will surely look into that. I have an 09 MCS and I haven't known about a single TSB without someone posting of a problem here on the boards. It would be nice to know this info in a timely fashion.

May I ask: do you have access to the TSB as soon as it's issued by MINI with eautorepair? Is there any time delay?

I am not sure about the time delay, betterhead. I checked a few minutes ago, and the last TSB for my car was issued in 2009. Either there have not been any new TSB's issued for my car, or eautorepair only has access to a limited range of TSB's. Of course, with 180 TSB's, maybe MINI-BMW figured they had covered everything!
