Navigation & Audio the whole enchilada - iPod + bluetooth
the whole enchilada - iPod + bluetooth
Alright ladies and gents, grab your coffee and get ready for a challenge:
What I've got:
2005 MCS, standard stereo (is that the wave or the boost?)
Motorola V3 Razr (along with half the free world)
iPod 5G (video)
What I want:
1. iPod interface
-id3 tag display on radio
-charges ipod during use
-mfsw control of ipod
-no cradles! (want ipod kept out of sight)
AND
2. Bluetooth phone interface
-mfsw control of phone
-display of incoming calls on radio
-ability to scroll through phonebook on radio
-no cradles or extra display screens (don't want to mess with removing phone from pocket every time I get in and out)
I've poured through tons of posts and realize I'm not going to get what I want with the factory HU. So, I'm now looking at aftermarket HU's.
I've seen Alpine recommended by a couple of people in the posts I've read and found the Alpine CDA 9857. It offers what I want in terms of ipod connectivity, but all I can find is that it's "bluetooth ready". Anyone here have a bluetooth phone connected as well? What controller are you using? The Parrott 3k series? Does it offer the features listed above that I'm looking for with the Alpine HU?
Speaking of the Parrott controller (since it seems to be the most lauded), to what is the "Evo kit" on the newministuff.com website referring?
Last one: There are plenty of aftermarket stereos on the market. Is there another manufacturer that has the set-up I'm looking for?
I know this was long- thanks for reading.
Brock

I'm looking for the same thing for my '06 MCS that's currently in production. At the same time, I'd like to know if there's a Bluetooth kit that has all that you mentioned PLUS automatic music volume control; the music volume turns down by itself when you pick up the call.
Heh, I actually am looking for the same thing in my yet-to-be-ordered 06. Except I want SAT-NAV too...
I have a blackberry instead of a razr, and a 3G (hopefully a 5G later on) IPOD.
Not asking for much really... (incoming emails displayed on the screen
