Discontinued Colors - Any truth to the rumors?

Hey Gang,

Any truth to the rumor about Liquid Yellow is being discontinued on ordered cars? I received a Production Number last Wednesday but was told by the dealership that LY was no longer being produced as an ordered color due to production issues related to end of model year run. I really want LY but had to change my order to Pepper White. I was also told that Solar Red is no longer available as well.

Does anyone know a way to find out if this information is accurate? Any way to contact the order process center for North America?

TIA

Thanks. ... I actually found that post after I had already submitted this. Tried to delete my post here but was unuable to because it took well over 5 minutes or more for it to post. I assumed that for some odd reason the post didn't get processed as it wasn't showing up and so I logged off. And now that I've just logged on I finally see my posted thread.

I'm a newbie here and was just wondering if all posts need to get past a screening process before they actually post. Or is it just for first time posters that this is the case? Or does everyone have to wait until the "censors" approve the content of the message before it actually posts?

Solar Red ends production in April. I don't know if that means through April or not, but I've got one of the last SR/S MC's! Now if they can just get it on a boat!

There is no screening process that I know of. When I post, it appears right away, even on my first post.

Are you sure it wasn't just the internet running slow?

My first 4 or 5 posts were moderated and didn't show up right away (there was some message about moderation after posting). After that point they showed up immediately.

Dont worry... They screen EVERYONE's first few posts, and once they know youre not here to be a troll or spam, they stop

Cool!

At least it's not just me. Whew!

As a test, I am posting this at exactly 9:51 PDT. Let's see if the delay is still on!

EDIT: Guess not! ... Yippee!

Well I just ordered a Liquid Yellow today. Regular hatchback. It's not available on the "s" right now. MA says you have till the end of April to order those colors.

I don't think LY was available at all on an '06 S at all. It ticked me off cause LY is my 2nd favorite color . Hoping we get some exciting colors & they hang around for a few years or maybe they could just introduce 8 more shades of gray

thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you.

this thread saved my hide, since the mrs made a last minute decision that purple haze made the mini a great idea instead of a colossal waste of money.

Yeah, I bareley made it under the wire for Purple Haze with a silver roof. I had to put in my order two months earlier than planned, but I would have been really mad if I lost out on the PH/S combo. Now I can't wait for my MCS to get here!

I see you have checked in at the Solar Red thread.

So that makes 4 SRs on NAM now.

OH REALLY?!!

Okay, here's a silly newbie question, what does MA stand for? Does it stand for something like the MINI Order Processing Center of North America? Please tell me it stands for an authoritative source so I can march to my dealership after work - check that, call them as soon as they open to let them know that we can still order LY!

We took our first test drive last weekend and while we were sold on the Mini then, the last chance to get Purple had us take our check book out. We were week 17, but the dealer called this morning saying we have moved up to Week 16.

Didnt see an actual purple model at the dealer, so took a drive to another dealer in town (we have two) and found one hiding. Might have considered the in stock model, but the white top didnt do the purple justice so we stayed with the pure purple on order.
