R52 Cabrio Surf Rack ??? Ideas?
Seems like you could you put the Mini Receiver hitch on the back and then get a support going up the back. If you are able to work with Metal parts, I would think you then conceivably do the same up front?

Bet if you search, you can find a surf rack adaptor.
or skis or a bike, etc.
Good Luck!

Hey thanks guys and grrls. My "local" break is 2.5 hours away, so the old throw and go idea is out.(mostly)
I think making something for the reciever is the way to go. I'd love to come up with a solution to place a bar/towers above the wind shield. OK, I'll do a proper search before reinventing the wheel...

That's kind of the direction I was thinking. You could fashion some sort of plate bracket that could use the seat bolts to secure it. Then a vertical pipe and horizontal bracket. Was going to try to design one so I could carry my bikes, but then minitature trailers popped up which solves my problem

I know I'm not helping but,
Strap it to the side

Just kidding
I wish I could help. I just found out last month that I could fit my 9' on my car.
that was a tense drive.

How about this?
I don't know how safe it will be but it an idea . Drop the tailgate. Put the rear seats down. Buy a soft rack. Wrap one soft rack around the seat backs and the other around the tailgate, like you would if it were on the roof of your car. Then slide the board in through the back and secure as you would as if it were on top of you car. To keep the tailgate from bouncing, Place the tow hook in the reciver in the rear bumper. Now use a tie down or string/rope to and wrap that around the tailgate and into the tow hook and tighten, make sure the tailgate is unable to move.
Did that make sense. Oh, tie a flag to the fin/skeg.
Now, the question is will it make it 2.5hrs?
I know, I'm really not helping much.
