Columbia Chapter Whiskey Creek Picnic 4/22
Columbia Chapter Whiskey Creek Picnic 4/22
The Columbia Chapter is hosting a picnic in a replica of a western town in Elgin. This replica was created by a retired school principal and his wife. The picnic will take place on April 22nd. Please mark your calendars and grab your boots, hats and optional toy six guns.
We will meet at Cafe Corner at 10:30 AM and then Caravan to the picnic for a 12 noon lunch.
Since this is private property, we will need to bring some tables and chairs and trash bags for clean-up. This is a true western town with limited facilities. We are going to have a great time so please plan to attend. I will post directions closer to the date.
It will be a true picnic lunch. So plan on bringing sandwiches and other snacks.

Twigg,
Wife has a wedding that weekend I did not know about earlier so she won't be attending but I'm still planning on coming down. I don't do weddings (too depressing)
and I'm sure this will be a lot more fun!
Hope to see you on the 22nd!!!

Judy,
A few of us are meeting at the Chick-Fila on hwy 49 off of I-485. Don't know the exit number but it's the last exit (heading south) before you get to I-77. You turn right onto 49 and the restaurant will be on the left. We are meeting there at around 8, leaving by 8:30 for the drive down to Columbia. You're welcome to join us. Let me know what you decide to do so we'll know whether to expect you or not. If you will PM me, I'll give you my cell number.

Be there!
Eric, I can find the restaurant and if I had the street address the little lady with the Bristish accent that lives in my nav system would direct me to the exact spot....can't live without her
. At this moment (Wed. night) I plan to be there before 8:30. Should I change my mind, I'll let you know. Thanks, Coopr S
Just a short note to let everyone know, that we got a little, o.k. alot of water on us going down. We met up with the SC Crowd and motored over to whiskey creek. Eric was ready for the picnic, thanks for the food big guy. We had alot of fun and a photo shoot with our cars up by the motel. We were also invited to see NASCAR car collection which was to say the least awesome. If this comes up again you should try to make it!!! Luke Charlotte VP.
I want to echo Luke's comments. Aside from a monster rain storm driving down, we had a great time.
I think we had 7 cars show up and I'm sure the threat of bad weather kept some folks away. The guy and his wife who are building this "town" are super-nice people and I encourage everyone who gets a chance to go see what he is doing. It's very impressive. I also want to thank Craig and Shireen (Twigg and Twigg 2) for putting this together. It was a lot of fun guys!!!
Look forward to seeing all you SC folks at the Century BBQ on June 17th if not before!

It sounds like y'all had a great time, and even got to do some puddle jumping, too!!
Unfortunately, like Moorlockx, I too am pulled in too many directions by too many of life's commitments, but I wish I could have been there.
