Interior/Exterior Anyone want to paint my MCS gas cap trim piece?
Greetings. I am looking to put a OEM MCS gas cap onto my PW/B mini. The problem is that while I am a mechanical guy in nature, I know nothing about autobody painting. :???:
Does anyone know where I could get the trim piece to the MCS gas cap painted? My dealer doesn't seem to want to give me an answer other than "We will do the whole install, including painting, for $500! I think this is a little steep since it takes about 2 hours to install and the parts cost $80 plus paint.
If someone could help me out I would be appreciative.

Hi, I've done that same mod myself and since you've got the PW/B mini, I think the easiest thing would be to paint the trim ring black. You could do that yourself pretty easily. I simply spray painted mine several coats with regular Krylon Exterior spraypaint and clear coated it several times with Krylon Clear Coat. Another option would be to bring the trim ring to any autobody shop and they could paint it black for you for cheap since it's such a small part anyways. Have fun!
