April Fools Day Drive in the Mountainns. On April 1st, we are taking a trip to Cheaha State Park. Starting in Chelsea then going to Cheaha State Park (Tallest Peak in Alabama) Bring your own sack lunch. We will eat at Bald Rock on top of the mountain. This trip will be full of neat and unusual sites and scenary. Then we will end back up at Chelsea at the NEW DQ for dessert.

I'll be motoring down from the midwest that weekend, or I'd love to make it. I hope to swing through hwy 129 on the way (out of the way).

 

Sorry you can't make it this time Louispup, but I bet you'll find away around to 129 either way. I hope we have alot that can make it out for this event. Kinda our first get together after first of spring. Hope some of the Rocket City Mini's can make it either at the start or along the way. This is a good way to rev up for the 4th annual MOD.

 

I'm in. I'm hoping for warmer weather though!

Nice, will be beautiful day on top of the mountain then. Great pictures and probably the curviest road in Alabama. Its very narrow but lots of curves. Who's gonna be the Bandit. Kinda likes the rear, only if sjolly ant back there, he tends to draw very large Dogs.....

The BMCC is going to have their monthly sports car cruise in at 6:00pm at Hamburger Heaven and is looking for some cars...do you think the cars would be back in time to meet the BMCC at 6:00 like we did earlier last year?

 

This is my 1st Cheaha ride but looking at the miles & giving us time to eat our lunch I would guesstimate we would be back in plenty of time

I am gonna hold him personally responsible if it rains before 5PM

I didn't get home til 9PM last nite so I kinda needed something to wash the pollen off

 

OK so now Jerry Tracey says rain til 9AM, then no rain again til 8PM. I wish he would make up his mind . I am still good to go, hope y'all are.

Well that was the best twisties ride I have done in AL since I got my Mini. It sure would be nice if we could get Minis to come to our events but the 4 of us that came had a blast!!

It didn't take us long to get there even though we went the back way, the Cheaha roads were in really good shape so we were able to take the curves at zoomzoom speed, we had a nice picnic lunch (w/some really delicious fruit salad ), we took a nice hike up to a beautiful water fall, then we drove home (& we got free ice cream thanks Steve). Looking forward to doing that drive again this summer.

 

I glad to see thay you all had fun yesterday. I had a busy day yesterday so I know you all had more fun than I did. I hope to make it to the Monday Meeting. See ya there.
