15% pulley question

I am going to the dealer tommorow to either order my new MCS or pick one off the lot. I will also be ordering the two grill pieces for the aero grill mod. I was wondering while I'm at it in a spending frenzy.... how hard is the 15% pulley install? Is it possible to do WITHOUT the tool? How long would it take your average backyard Fiat mechanic to do? Any DIY guides online? I appreciate any advice.

i have yet to do it myself, but i asked this same question the other day. the answer i got was you need the pulley removal tool due to space available to work with. they specifically said a regular pulley removal tool won't work, it'll just belt the inside lip. i think the biggest problem will be the lack of room in the engine bay. hope that helps

You shouldn't be too intimidated if you're a backyard mechanic who can follow well-written instructions.

While you're at it you ought to consider a 17% pulley. I had a 15% on my first Mini and moved to the 17% with my new one. There is clearly more power and if you like the supercharger whine.....it's much more present. Also,
an ECU tuning upgrade would smooth the feel across the board. I used the
GIAC chip for tuning and it provides a wonderful new dimension.

I have the 15% with the Kelleners ECU and Madness CAI. Lots of power at @4500 up to @7000 and the whine is so cool.....will also throw ya in the back seat
