A little help from those who have more knowledge please...

I know the wiring is different. Will these work on my '05, and if so, will they be a huge PITA to install? Thanks for your help!

Anyone know where I can buy these lights (other than on eBay for a ridiculous $199 plus $45 shipping )?

 

I think people are being nice & not saying what they think of those lights. I'd sure hope they wouldn't fit. Everyone has an opinion, I sorry if mine offended.

Well, they are pretty girlie. I've seen them in person and the middle light is sorta turquoise on top and pink on the bottom. I think they would look quite fetching on Malibu Stacy.

Someone did PM me to tell say they'll fit, but the wiring will be kinda difficult. I guess I'm more concerned about the price right now. *sigh*

Those things really arent flattering for the car's styling by any means.

 

Rally, perhaps you should read the original post again. The question was will these work on an 05, not what you think of them. Batgirl likes them, as do I. If you don't have any help or support for maybe you should keep your negative opinion to yourself and let people exercise their own tastes when they are not asking for yours.

Of course freedom of speech allows you to and this is a public forum, but it sure would be a nicer forum without negative comments like those (unless of course they are asked for.) Sorry to be so blunt.

 

Which car's styling? MINIs have all sorts of styles. Have you seen my MINI's boot?



MINITOR, I appreciate you making the distinction between what I asked (Will these work? Where can I buy them cheaply?) and what I didn't (What is your opinion of these?). I don't care if other people, especially those I don't know, love or hate what I do to my MINI. They are welcome to tell me what they think, but I should hope something to the extent of "I don't care for them" would be said, as opposed to "Those look like garbage."

One thing that I see is needing to get the white reflector in the bumper if you are trying to move the reverse light back to the 04 position..

Batgirl, after seeing that pic I have to say that they would look especially good with your pink boot stripes. Did you IM Rick and get any sort of solution?

I totally agree, MINI's have many styles - from conservative to euro to bling to ricer, I love them all and their differences and distinctions. Maybe one day I will have lambo doors! That will make them mad.

If you plan on using just the clear aero tail lights, like i used, on an 05-06, the top light on an aero tail will become the reverse light.

 

Several people have said it can be done, and offered instructions/help. Thanks!!! I think I have convinced my friend that owns them to sell them to me for what he paid as well. Sooooo... we'll see. Hopefully we'll give 'em a try soon!

 

Will be curious to see how it works out - hope they light up nice and bright for you.

 

I'm happy to report I'm still alive and I'm FINALLY getting my pink lights !!!

I printed out Rick's instructions. Hopefully we can figure it out, if not, we'll be PMing Rick and/or Chad for some help .

I'm in CA. A buddy of mine, who is a moderator on The Mini Forum (in the UK) created my sig.

FYI, some friends of mine just moved to VA. One with an EB (PNUTJET plate) and one with a DS (TAZMINI plate). Give 'em a wave if you seem them around! I suppose they will probably have VA plates on their MINIs pretty soon. Both have a squished Union Jack stripe down their bonnet.
