Please look for other threads here on this topic - including a few that I started...

This issue freaks me out because apparently there is no incompatability except for the lack of a solution for a single antenna unit that can handle THREE receivers - radio, GPS, and satellite (the current antenna does only two of the three). The Sirius does NOT use the Aux port but rather uses the port for the CD deck (accessible from the boot or under rear seat depending on Cabrio or not).

My four-day old MINI will probably experience me trying to make this work soon - will probably order the unit from Classic and make the rear attachments, and then position the satellite antenna on the dash, which seems to work for many people.

However, check out the other threads - lot of detail on this issue.

Bill

It's ONLY an antenna issue for hardtops... one that an aftermarket antenna solves. Check my sig, I have both OEM SIRIUS and Nav (yes it's a hardtop). Cabrios have an additional hurdle because the "standard" mounting location for the SIRIUS receiver is smaller (i.e. the boot side pockets).

I'll be happy to answer any questions, although I didn't actually do the install myself, I just bought all of the necessary parts and had the dealer do it (partly because I wanted them to help me out if any problems come up down the road).
