Which baby seat is best for my MCS?

I am now in the market for a baby seat, and I am a total newbie in stores like Babies-R-Us. I want to get the car seat that fits best in the MINI, specifically.

What are your suggestions? Please help!

Thanks!

If the funds are there try to look in to the Recaro range of baby seats.
Pretty cool stuff....but pricey

PS. my son has been in one for years.

A Recaro baby seat, huh? Good idea, but a bit too pricey for us. Besides, how could I let junior ride in a better seat than me, the driver? That's just wrong. So, I'd naturally have to upgrade the front seats to Recaro's too!

(Not going to happen, unfortunately!)

I don't know anything about a good rear facing seat, but for forward facing our Evenflow Triumph Convertible seat fits and works great. Install it very tight and you can use a booster pad or a rolled up towel under the rear part of the seat to get the back to lay flat against the rear seat. The Latch attachments in the MINI are a dream to work with. See MINI2.com for a whole thread section on Minis and children. A stroller is a little harder proposition. I have a Eurotrend folding travel stroller. It's a lot like a umbrella stroller, with more features. I had a Marine battery tie down strap and now have the stroller strapped lengthwise to the rails on my headrest. It is strapped tight and doesn't move about hardly at all. At the bottom it wedges against the rear seat, so I have lost a seat and it now is just my wife, daughter and I, but a second convertible seat could fit in there. Just thinking ahead.

I'm not trying to sound bitchy saying this, but try a search. There are several threads covering this topic. I was going to post one but realized there were so many that I didn't want to leave a good one out. I got several relevant threads when I searched for BABY SEAT
