JCW GP Spoiler

Do you think that if this spoiler was extended forward to the glass it would keep the back end cleaner?

It IS a functional spoiler, adds downforce, needs air flow

**** Don't worry about dirt when you are racing *****

Besides, it won't be available for sale(as a part) till next fall-winter ( I tried to order one)

The car gets released around July 2006, no price yet

I was thinking of fabbing up something similar to this design for people who don't race but just want to keep the boot a little cleaner.

Not sure on the material, but it will be light. I wouldn't actually be correcting this design, just kinda going on what is already there, but making a few changes to accomplish the task.

The only way to keep the back end clean is to remove the spoiler. The spoiler creates a low pressure area at the boot which allows all the dirt to get sucked in.

Umm, I don't have a spoiler on my cabrio. It gets dirty as much as the next Mini.

I was wondering about that too goaljnky. I was just on a run Sunday in rainy weather behind a cabrio and the back of that thing was just as filthy as my car.

yup, that's arqray (some name huh?!!?). Expensive stuff, about 1k. Looks mighty nice and it's adjustable. Reminds me of the Mugen Civic wing.

I definitly want the arqray rear wing.. I'm still waiting for their full North American launch.. which was supposed to happen last year. Only few parts for the elise is available right now..
I asked about the wing with a import store and they can get it but it's going to cost $1,200+

They don't even list the American website anymore. Not sure if they still have the plans bring it over here.

Not to highjack the thread, but they offer more products:

Arqray Design - MINI Cooper S

Their American destributor is Sector 111. I dropped them an email to see if they would consider bring the MINI products over as well as the Lotus products they already sell. If you are really intrested, I am sure a couple of well placed emails may persuade them: info@sector111.com

the dirt actually gets sucked/pushed up from the bottom of the rear fascia! so a rear diffuser might help well at least thats my excuse to get one
