Top Down - Can't see LED guage displays!

I have a 2005 convertible with the crono cluster in the middle. This places the tach and speedometer over the steering wheel. Equipped with the driving computer which displays at bottom of the tach and the odometer/tripometer/clock which displays at the bottom of the speedometer.

This arrangement is no problem with the top up or at night, but with the top in the preferred position (DOWN!) on a sunny day it is impossible to read the LED displays.

Anyone else bugged by this? Any suggestions?

Reading displays in direct sunlight

I've been very pleased that even with direct sunlight shining down (assumes the top on my 2006 MCC is in the "preferred position", the lcd display on my dvd navigation built-into the dashboard can be read perfectly. I haven't noticed any problem with reading the smaller lcd's on the tach/speedometer displays. But the vehicle is so much fun that it wouldn't bother me too much. I agree the problem reminds us the vehicle is not perfect. But it is darn close!

Yup. Same problem. That's one of the reasons I prefer mechanical odometers. I had a similar issue with the DSC light yesterday. I was trying to switch DCS off, but couldn't tell by the light when it was off/on.
Ideally, the carbrios would be equipped with brighter interior lights with an ambient light sensor that would adjust when the guages were in direct sunlight.

Honestly, the car's too much fun for me to really care though.

From: Chicago.. yes, Chicago
last year, I had the top down all the time when I was driving home... I was always heading east so the setting sun was at my back. I really didn't notice the glare so much I usually ignored the speedo on the steering column during those times and simply enjoyed the ride
Can't wait for spring!!!!

My biggest issue as I cruise around here in southern Florida is having my daughter call me from up in snowy Rhode Island and not being able to tell her the exact temperature at the time
