Aftermarket Exhaust 06 Mini S

I know this all comes down to he said, she said. But need to ask anyway.
Discussed this with the wife today and she said go for it. But, it comes down to which is the best one? We prefer the deeper sound for an exhaust and do not want any resonance in the cabin. OK with loud but again, no resonance. Which one should we get? ALTA, Borla, Invidia, OBX, Magnaflow, Remus, OneBall Conversion or others? Any of these made for the car without having to do modifications? All help appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave AZ

Well I just one-balled my car and replace the center pipe with 2.5" piping yesterday and I love it. All other systems range in the same price more or less, and they all give the same power, just go with which one you think sounds the best... Exhaust Thread has video/sound clips of most of the exhausts available.

For day in & day out living with an aftermarket exhaust, the Borla standard model provides a pleasing experience. There is no drone and after “running-in” for a few hundred miles the tone is deliciously mellow. A loud exhaust will become uncomfortable in the long run after the initial thrill has worn off; the Borla standard is on the quieter side as aftermarket exhausts go but defiantly has a more full-bodied tonal quality than stock.

I’ve had a Quicksilver and two Millteks to compare with. The workmanship and materials of the Borla are outstanding next to those. The multiple pieces allow for perfect fitment despite whatever quirky build characteristics your particular vehicle may have.

this is all very informative. I would also like a little more loudness, but it needs to be deep... I already feel that my stock 06 MCS is a little bit raspy, i want to mellow that out a little and make sure that i still have pleanty of snap crackle & pop!

I am considering the One-Ball for cost reasons, followed by the borla street & militek exhausts for sound first, power second.

thanks!

you might consider a Milltek (from Stratmosphere) WITHOUT the reasonator. I've tried it both ways - and the way it's offered with the reasonator, in my opinion, is a waste of money. you can barely tell the difference between it and stock system. I was ready to throw it away ... but had the reasonator replaced with a straight pipe ... and wow !! Big Difference .... and good. My understanding is Milltek will now sell this either way ... with or without reasonator ... give Pete at Stratmosphere a call ... and let him tell you about it ...866.533.1777

Anyone have experiance with Rogue Engineering Exhaust on an S? Someone stated they send a replacement rear valence with this exhaust as well. Any photos of it on an S or an 04-06 S?
Thanks,
Dave AZ
