Has anyone had any experience with the Borla Race Exhaust? If I understand properly there are actually two: one with cat. and one without cat.

Does anyone have a sound clip of either?

The Borla Race exhaust is a "cat-back" exhaust system. This means that there is no cat in the exhaust because all it replaces is everything from behind the cat to the back of the car. If you want another cat or you want a straight pipe there, you need to do work on the header.

 

The Borla (street or race), Milltek or any other do not come with a cat. The cat is located on the headers. You can buy an aftermarket header without the cat. Milltek's comes with a cat, but I believe the new Alta header comes either way.

There are two Borla exhausts: Street and Agressive (AKA Race)

 

I had the the Borla Street on my 02MCS & currently have it on my 06 MCS....
It's a bit louder than stock...no cabin drone @ all...modest HP gains if any.

Borla Race... significantly louder than Borla Street.... louder than Miltek... not as loud as Magnaflow

(all subjective observations ... of course )
