Power losses when shift up 3rd to 4th

Hi guys,

My car had a very strange behavior yesterday while I was out on a trackday. The car lost it power entilely for a brife moment (1-2 sec) after I have shifted up from 3rd to 4th when I passes though a long esses. No engine light came up. This happened many times when I passed through this particular esses. Then, on one occation on the same esses the car lost it's entile power and will not rev over 2000 rpm, I had to pull to the side. I re-started the car and the car runned fine. For the entire time the DSC was switched off. This only happened at the particular esses and it didn't happen at any other corners. It didn't happened when I cut through the apex on the esses or when I hold it in 3rd.

On a side note, the hand brake light came up when the car is driven at racing speed but the hand brake is down entilely.

Prior to the trackday I had my MTH tuner file installed and I was using octane booster. I run on trackday regularly (at least once per month) and I have never had such experience.

Any thought?

Cheers

Considering that it only happened at one specific corner (esses), my guess is fuel starvation due to the G forces. Maybe this particular sequence of corners causes the pickup to be uncovered.

I was thinking of that too but the tank was almost full though. If I bring the car to the dealer, will they be able to see any false codes??

Here is some update.

It is now happened on highway driving too. My car lost power when I shifted up at higher rev (like 4500-6000 rpm), though it only happen rarely. When it happens, it happens so violently like you expected the car to go faster after you have shifted up but instead the engine bogged down rapidly . Luckily no cars were behind me. There were no engine lights. The car did not limp after the power loses.

Any suggestion?

It's worth a shot to check your bypass valve. The traditional faulty BPV seen on many '05 stick open. When this happens, you'll see EML, DSC, and SES lights with limp mode. Maybe your octane booster + MTH changed the reaction of the car.

Had the same problem for the first time recently. I was merging on the highway, shifted from 3rd to 4th and all of a sudden the rpm didn't pick up for a sec or two. It's been a few weeks now and the car runs fine ever since.
