I think your asking price is a tad high.

As far as warranty is concerned, your car must be near the end of the factory period (By time, not mileage). When was the car built and delivered? My guess is that the car has between 6-9 months left on the warranty and it is obvious that the car is no longer covered by the 3 year/36K free scheduled maintenance program.

PS: Post pics. Nothing moves the metal faster than good quality photos of the interior and exterior.

 

Do you have a stain at the bottom of the driver's seat?

To answer your questions:

1. Warranty - The 4 year/50,000 mile warranty is in effect until 09/05/2006.

2. Price - KBB states the private party price as $18,015; this does not take into account the Cold Weather package, Sport package, and the $500 tires I installed three weeks ago. For these three items, I've added only $500 to the asking price.

3. Photo/seat - No, there is no stain on the driver's seat, although I see what you saw in the photo -- that is a result of the flash and the resolution of the JPEG image. More photos can be seen here:

I appreciate your quick response. I also own a '02 Cooper CVT, albeit, with less optional equipment than yours (CVT and MFSW (Cruise control + remote stereo buttons) are its only options. The rest of the car is bone stock. It was manufactured first week of August '02 and delivered to us new on September 7th, 2002. The car currently has 35K miles and it is my wife's daily driver. Its warranty is set to expire on 9/7/06. It seems we took delivery of our cars within just a couple of days from each other!.

Not, I am not interested in the car, just browsing. Last year I sold a '04 Cooper S with 17K miles for $700 above of what I originally paid for it new at the end of 2003. I sold it on a private sale.

It never ceases to amaze me the incredible resale vales of our MINIs. These cars are easily fetching over 65% residual value after 4 years of service. That puts the MINI in high end resaleterritory with the likes of Porsche and high ebd Mercedes Benz.

Good luck with the sale. You definetely have a cream puff of a car. Should be no problem for you to find it a new loving home.
