Windshield Wipers - 2006 VW Style for Mini?

I was with a friend the other day looking at a 2006 Passat. Nice car, especially with the new 280HP engine. But I digress.

One neat feature I noticed was that the windshield wiper was a one-piece molded silicone and neoprene assembly. It mounted to the arm just like a regular wipe would, be instead of a metal framework that pushed the blade against the glass it was a metal "fin" from what I could tell that was completely surrounded by a silicone and neoprene assembly. It's hard to describe, but VERY clean looking though somewhat heavy weight wise compared to a metal frame wiper.

Are these VW specific? Or is there an aftermarket company that makes something like this? I searched around but couldn't find a reference for them.

Other companies are using them as well. I drove a Crown Victoria with these newfangled wipers, (my guess made by Trico) and they were horrible. They chattered, were loud, and looked cheap. I'm glad my MC doesn't have them.
