February Road and Track magazine has Mini owners survey and info on new JCW..........

Survey covers mostly 02-04 MC and MCS with about 75% being MCS'. Pretty much what you would expect. Those surveyed love their MINIs.

Not sure if the special edition 06' JCW has been covered here. About 2,000 total are to be produced.

Check out the mag.

Sorry, I got my copy via subscription a couple of days ago. It might be a few more days before it appears on the news stand. Subscribed for 2yrs for 12 bucks. You can't beat 50 cents an issue delivered to your door.

I used to work in publishing. Here's how magazine dates work...

The date on the magazine is like the "pull date" on a carton of milk. That's the date that the magazine gets pulled off the shelf at the newsstand. This can be pretty confusing to readers, but if you think about it for a moment, it makes sense. With quarterly mags (every three months), bi-monthlies (every two months), monthlies, semi-monthlies (twice a month - 24 issues), bi-weeklies (every two weeks - 26 issues), weeklies, and special editions that don't fit into the categories above, pull dates are just about the only way to keep a magazine rack current.

It doesn't always work, and magazines don't always do it this way (when do you pull a "Winter 2006" issue???), but it's sort of a "standard."

Adding to confusion is the fact that most magazines send out the subscriber copies earlier than they appear on the newsstand. So a subscriber can be receiving a "January, 2006 issue" sometime in November, '05.

Does that make sense?

Kind of makes sense.. So there really isn't an official "release" date for magazines?
