WOW... the Christmas present that floored me

Everybody likes good surprises, right? I am no exception. I had heard "hints" since Thanksgiving from my girlfriend Sally (here on NAM as "ssallykat") that she was "working on" my Christmas present here and there...

Well, let's just say that I had NO idea what exactly that entailed, but I am unbelievably happy and proud of the results. She made a 3'x3' PAINTING on canvas of my MINI in front of a twisty road sign. Amazing, I can't wait to proudly display it on my wall - I just have to figure out which wall to put it on! 9 square feet - it's HUGE!

Take a look... it's really something special... the picture doesn't really do it enough justice, it's awesome.

(note the picture is taken, cropped and rotated by yours truly... therefore not the best job of it)

There are definite benefits to having an artistic girlfriend who loves MINIs too! Thanks babe!

Nothing wrong with waiting. My wife and I dated (and lived together) for 6-1/2 years before we got married. That was 24 years ago!

What was I thinking? Not only could she cook and sew - she drove an Austin Healey at the time, and did her own tune-ups!

But hey - awesome painting. That's a SPECIAL gift!
