Longest Wait at Distribution Center???

I ordered my 06 MCS on November 8. It sailed through production and sped over on the boat. Now it has been at the distribution center for a week and a half! What gives? Why so long? What are they doing to it? To make matters worse, my MA told me last Saturday that my car was IN, and that I could take delivery on Monday. Yesterday I came in to work, got everything all set with the insurance, financing, etc. Made arrangements to leave work early (oh yeah I was gonna make a day of it!) Only to be told by my MA that she had made a mistake, my car is NOT in, it was someone else's car.

Has anyone had this long a wait at the DC? Longer? I'm ready to tear my hair out!! impatient

I don't think the website is updated very often. I remember seeing the website say it was at the VDC even though it was sitting on the dealer's lot...

You'll get it very soon I'm sure

I have heard that cars that stay there longer than a few days have been damaged and have to be spot painted. JOKE! When the first '05's arrived in the US in late July, early August '04, they were held up for 10 days or so--at least some were--for '05 stickers and the new cup holder. Mine arrived with the old cup holder-after hanging out for over a week. I didn't notice any spot painting. I predict as soon as you get real busy at work--you will get THE call that your MINI is waiting for you.

Kinda like when you are on a road trip and realize you just "gotta go". But then decide you can make it home and not have to stop at a dumpy smelly gas station. But then you realize that maybe you SHOULD have stopped at the dumpy smelly gas station because the closer you get to your house, the more you "gotta go". Closer to the house - gawd, you REALLY have "to go" now. Okay, your house is just around the corner now, but all of a sudden you are not sure you are going to make it. You are now gritting your teeth and pounding on the steering wheel to try to get your mind off of the problem. And then you FINALLY pull up to the house, jump out before the car stops, run up the steps as fast as you can as you scream for everyone to get out of your way!

Is that the way you feel now? (That's why I bought "Sam" off of the dealer lot - she was close enough to what I would have ordered anyway, and she was THERE!)

I'm sorry, I just HAD to poke fun at 'cha. It will make you appreciate your new baby even more when you finally do get it.

My 05 was stuck there for about 3 WEEKS!! Found out after the car got to the dealer that it was held for that long because the stupid cup holder was BROKE!!!!
The dealer was just as peaved as I was, they made many phone call to the dist. center with no feed back from them. BTW the dealer had the cup holders IN STOCK, I'm not blamming the dealer, just that Mini needs to get that thing called COMMUNICATION in check!

4 Weeks !

Buddha was at the VDC (Port Hnuemea) for an entire MONTH due to some Flash Upgrade and a replacement Anthracite Headliner that was miscut in Oxford.

When my '04 arrived, it still showed up as being at the port even a couple of days after it arrived at the dealer! It may very well be in transit right now.

My '02 MCS was held up at the VDC for over 30 days - apparently a 1-3" scratch in the hood had to be repaired. They fully disclosed it to me and there was nothing visible when I took delivery. They may have even replaced the hood, I don't know.

My '05 MCSa sailed through the VDC in 1 day and was on the truck to me right away.
