bmp intake?

Before everybody attacks me and tells me to do a search, i already have and there are so many different ones i dont know which to believe! i just bought a used bmp intake setup (great shape and smooth transaction!) and was wondering how much wheel horsepower it gave me? and also if it would work as good if not better than the full alta intake if i add the alta hose to the bmp or if im better off going with the alta later on. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!

The only way to find out is to dyno it but it's to small of a difference for the dyno cost, go with what they post on their site!1

I initially put a BMP on my 05MCS and had it for nearly 10 months. Switched to an Alta CAI 5 months ago. Amazing difference. My butt dyno says more hp, more importantly (to me), is the awesome sound. A lot louder than the BMP. Wonderful whine. Just added an Alta 15% reduction pulley and now it wails as well as scoots a lot quicker.

I had a BMP on for over a year and quite liked it. I swapped it for the "hot air intake" which is simply a K&N filter clamped directly onto the throttle body. Feels about the same but sounds SOOOO much cooler! Love that supercharger whine!

When I put the BMP on, I remember telling people that it felt like the engine was breathing easier. And I only paid $140 shipped for it (Altas were close to double that at the time).

Yeah, it's a 5-10 minute install, and about the same to reverse it if you change your mind later.

As its stated in my October 2003 issue of Eurotuner:

A 6hp gain at the wheels and 4 more ft-lb of torque at peak, we'd say it does the job. The intake does flatten the powerband all the way through the curve with an added 5hp just about anywhere you look on the chart.

The BMP was dynoed on a Dynojet model 248c Dynamometer.
After reading this way back when, I bought the BMP, but I hope Santa brings me a Alta CAI. By the way, what did you pay for yours?

$50.00, not a bad deal since there going for $150.00+ new. Have you thought about cutting the wall behind the CAI? Here is the link:

I think ANY kind of cooler air would help out, plus the whine of the Supercharger is more noticable....

I have a BMP that I used for about 5 months before upgrading. It is definitely an improvement over stock and the supercharger whine is much more noticeable. If anyone is interested, send me a personal message and make an offer.
