Ground Clearance with steep driveway

I'm a soon to be owner, but am curious about one thing. My driveway is at quite an angle from the road. How is the Mini with ground clearance in those circumstances?

Really depends on the angle, but I never had much problem around here. I may have scraped once or twice in a few years, but thats it. Just don't get it lowered. Now I scrape every day.

First, welcome to NAM. My 03 MCS is lowered with H-Sport springs and sometimes I drag a little.

How far are you from a dealer, test drive into your driveway.

I'm lowered, and have a steep driveway...

I scrape every day in and out. Worse coming out for me. Hit it at an angel, so one of the front tires starts lifting the front end first. It will help. Some good news, the air diverter under the car is plastic, and it takes a real beating.

Never scraped a thing at my stock suspension height. Best is to take a test drive or atleast post a picture here on the forum so we can give you an educated guess

That's just plain nuts. Yeah, while you will with out a doubt srcape, don't ever worry about any high water problems with that driveway.

That is the worst elevation I have ever seen on a house What in the world is the builder thinking?

Ummm, yikes

I'd want to make sure they put a hard point in the concrete up top so that I could tie off the tow hook when I parked in the driveway

Even if that drive way extended all the way down to the road it'll still be steeper than most driveways out there, lol. I can't imagine this drive way is good for the clutch.

My driveway is about that steep on the downhill side right by the road. I usually hit the driveway at about a 45' angle and never scrape. Hitting it perpendicular, a borrowed F250 scraped.

My driveway is very steep, and I've scraped a few times, but hitting it an an angle works. Also, watch how much weight you have in the back. I have my husband and Mother-in-law, plus a bunch of groceries, and we scraped with my husband in the back. He got out, and it was fine!

Judging by the lack of foilage on the trees and the distinctive red dirt, I would guess this to be oklahoma.....They DO get snow and ice!

How do you even pour concrete on a slope like that and not just wind up with a pile at the bottom?

Maybe they just make slabs of it on a flat surface and place them on the driveway.

There is NO WAY that photo is legit.

As for real life driveways, like many have posted, hit the low spot one wheel at a time for best non-scraping ability.
