215/50/16 on stock 6.5 inch rim?
Is the rim wide enough for this tire size? Or should I go with 205/50/16. I don`t want the tire to stick out too much past the rim. My current setup is 195/55/16 runflats, which look perfect on a 6.5 inch rim. Also considering 205/55/16.
To sum it up,
which tire size would you guys go with?
205/50/16
205/55/16
215/50/16
Thank you,
Paul.

Dan - I'm starting with the stock wheels and eventually moving up to 16x7 wheels. Was hoping to run the 215s on the stock till I got the 16x7s...is there going to be problems with this setup? Btw the tires are 215/45/16s
215/45 will mount to your 16x7, and technically Tirerack says they can't guarantee that size to fit. I speculate it could fit. The concerns I encounter are that your almost 1 inch short in diameter, and slightly lower in load capacity.
The correct load bearing can be acheived by rasing your inflation pressure 3-5 psi. The diameter deviation however can't be corrected for.
Another concern is that 215/45/16 leaves you high and dry in several catagories of tires. This size was made popular by the generation 2 NSX, and tends to mostly be its optional OE tires.

I just ordered rims, that come with the 215 45 r16 Falken Tires. These rims will be inly for summer/ auto X use. The rims were 16x6.5 so I would say that the 215 tires will fit on the rim.
