I got my 05' "S" in april of this year. Its has the factory HK radio with sirius. Up until a few weeks ago I was recieving the free channel 184 on sat Then it just stopped. The display now just reads "call 888 539 sirius" no more free channel. I figured they just stopped broadcasting it for free.

Anyway the other day I ordered the service from sirius. It doesnt work...I then asked for tech support & asked if they are still broadcasting channel 184 for free, she said yes. So now the problem seems to be in my unit.

Im about 2 hours from the dealer & dont want to go back for this unless I have too. Does anybody have the instructions for the factory sirius unit so I could check the connections & do some trouble shooting.

Do you actually have sirius and have it activated? Or is it unactivated and you are were just hearing the free preview channel.
They have changed it to a preview/emergency channel and possibly moved it to another channel with the recent lineup reprogramming. Try hitting your channel up/down buttons to see if you get any other channels.

 

No- I just signed up for the service. The fact that my radio is not recieving channel 184 (preveiw channel) is indicating that its not working correctly.

 

Check the antenna connection, which should be easily accessed from the rear left boot panel.

I have the manual, but I believe I stopped getting 184 after I activated, and then Sirius rearranged most of the channels (about a month ago). I need to check to see if I still get 184 since it's not one of my presets. Is this the only channel you aren't receiving anymore? IOW do the rest of the stations/channels still function?

 

The sat radio doesnt work at all. I used to get 184, but that stopped a while ago. Then the other day I signed up for the service & the download never reached my radio.

I would like to check the install myself before driving 2 hours to the dealer.

Check to make sure that your ESID is correct. It is located on the actual Sirius tuner and also can be accessed via headunit. From what it sounds like, that is probably the problem.
