Flow Mini Questions....

Hey all,

Heading to Flow later in the week to test drive ( and hopefully order) a Mini

Any suggestions or comments in regards to Flow???

People here happy with Flow, both sales and service??

Any "ordering fees" typical or should I expect that the Miniusa.com MSRP for the Mini I have configured is pretty much what I will pay? ( plus tax, title, doc fees etc)

Any throw ins that people have typically negotiated?? Floor mats, other after market items?

Have been doing a lot of research the past few months since being bitten by the Mini bug and just looking for any "inside" info I can get from veterans of the ordering process as I round third heading for home....

Thanks in advance.....

I bought my Mini at Flow before Hendrick opened in Charlotte.

Flow was great to work with, nice people, no "ordering fees" or anything like that.

No post-sale experience though, since Hendrick is now my dealer for maintenance, etc.

If she doesn't reply here, drop DebiW a pm. They just ordered and picked up a new MINI from Flow. Keith and her will probably be able to answer your questions.

I've dealt with Flow for a couple years now, and found them to be great.

Hi There,

Just back in from a great time at Hilton Head with absolutely awesome top down weather.

I found Flow to be great to deal with. This was my second MINI purchase from them. I dealt with Robin and I have nothing but praise for her handling of the transaction. The delivery process was great. The MINI was under cover until we got there. Our name was on the board, there were a few goodies in the car for us. The MINI had the steering wheel protective ribbon on it this time

The follow-up just keeps going 3 weeks and 2000 miles later. Thank you cards, gourmet cookies. I've been extremely pleased.

The deposit is $500 and there is a doc fee and the wait wasn't painfull at all.

Have fun with your order:smile:

Cheers,
Debi

Contact Ed Simmons

Had a great experience from Ed, (who by the way, is expecting his MCS this week). It says something that an MA also drives the car he sells. I was over on the lot last week and they have a good inventory. His email is esimmons@flowauto.dealerspace.com . I think you will be very please with him.

I really appreciate all the info from folks here and on the board in general.

I have spoken to Ed briefly to arrange for the test drive this Friday and I know my wife spoke with Robin about some questions a week or 2 ago...

Planning to drive over on Friday with the family, get to Flow early hopefully and then spend the day at Old Salem with the kids....

I'll let folks know how it goes....

I'm pretty well decided on most of what I want....MC, premium pkg, cold weather, sport seats.....

I was decided on the color...originally liked HB/blk, but I am now leaning towards brg/silver....will probably decide at the last minute...

Welcome to the MINI family. Now comes the waiting period. It was difficult for me to make up my mind on color. As Jimmy Buffet say, "Indecision may or may not be my problem..". I think you will be please with Ed.

Bought my MC at Flow in July. Nice people, no ridiculous fees. A good experience. They will try to sell you lots of clear bras and extended warantees and stuff, but all you have to do is say no thanks. They've had a yearly outing to VIR in August, which is very nice of them, also. I don't have a thing bad to say about them.

I bought my MINI at Flow 2 1/2 years ago and I'll just agree with what everyone else has said. No problems with them whatsoever. Very nice folks to deal with. Good luck with your new MINI and congratulations on your decision to "join the family".

Just my 2 cents...

I just purchased my Mini thru Hendrick in Charlotte. After giving both of them a stab at pricing out my "request", Hendrick treated me better from the start. They offered me more "freebies" and patient with me thru the process. Flow would not offer any "freebies" until they heard about the offer from Hendrick. I would suggest to price them both out and pit them after each other! Find out who would give you the best deal.

Dave

Hendrick also supports this club very well, which shows you where their heart is!

What "freebies" did you get? I got floor mats, and key chain. Not great, but they were "freebies". This was offered upon my first visit, before I even indicated that I knew what I wanted.

Thats good info Dave....

My wife recently upgraded her Mini(van) and we went to every Honda dealer in the area, compared prices and service and in the end we gave the dealership we liked the chance to match or beat the best deal on price and trade in on a new Odyssey which they did....

Did you get more than floormats out of Hendrick?? I guess that is all I am expecting from Flow after speaking to other folks...

Done Deal

Well, went to Flow today, test drove the MC and ordered!!

I had already driven the S, just wanted to make sure the MC was equally fun and I wasn't disappointed....

This is what I went with, forgive me if I don't have the Mini shorthand down yet...

06 MC 5speed, PW/blk with blk bonnet stripes, anthracite interior, sport seats, premium pkg and cold weather pkg, standard wheels and rims, panther leather shift **** and foot rest....

Thats it....

Certainly feel like I am getting quite a bit for the money I am spending...

Color was up in the air to the very end....came down to PW/blk, BRG/silver or HB/blk....

So.....8 wks or so till I am motoring...

Congrats! From a fellow PW/B owner! I was indifferent on the color at first, but my wife requested the PW/B combo. I am very happy on the color combo, I think I would have been disappointed with the BRG in the long term. Great choice.

Dave

Oh, Hendrick offered me free floor mats, mirror covers, hand brake cover, as well as other little things. The most most important thing is that they gave my daugher a Mini backpack .

2nd thing, don't forget to sign up for the club and you get 10% off all parts and labor on accessories. That has really paid off for me, by saving about 300 dollars!

Flow Mini

Hi,

Just saw your question on Flow... I was fairly pleased with my last visit with two exceptions. First, they said that since I didn't buy my Mini from Flow, they would not give me a loaner car. I was more than a little miffed. I live in Statesville. Driving 35 miles there and dropping it requires the assistance of your better half. She was not pleased. Nor was I. Further, you drop as much as I did on a Cooper S w/JCW and talk it up as much as I do, you would think a BMW affiliated dealership would extend a better level of service. Needless to say I will go further up the food chain next time I have to go in.
Second issue was a belt squeak... they changed the belt on my '05, but the whine came back. I was at Mini of Charleston this Monday AM and had them look at it. They replaced the belt and it is great this time out.
On the positive side, my cooper was nice and clean when I got it back and the wipers were replaced on the front w/o me have to say a word.

Yeah the service end is another matter I am sure I will become familiar with at some point....

My salesperson mentioned they were thinking of opening a service center in the Triangle Area due to all the sales they have in that area...would be nice, but then again a neighbor who bought his Mini 18 months ago was told the same thing back then...

I am very pleased thus far with the sales experience, extremely painless, I worked with Ed S., he took both my wife and I out on separate test drives as we had the kiddies with us...thanks to this site and Miniusa I already knew exactly what I wanted so the selection was easy....and as much as I hated paying MSRP for a vehicle, knowing that up front does take the adversarial approach out of the equation..

Hopefully I will get my production number tomorrow as Ed was at BMW training this week and told me he would get back to me then..
