i want to paint my headlamp trim rings. i have zenon headlamps how do i go about removing the headlamps?i've searched but found nothing. i have also looked in the service manual but there are no clear pics of the removal. anybody done this ?

Unfortunatly it´s necessary to remove the headlamp.

 

Yeah, you do have to remove the headlamps which is somewhat of a pain. And then, getting the trim off is another pain. With paint, you will obtain rock chips and they're impossible to prevent. I am going to be wrapping my headlight trim rings in a black vinyl very soon which should minimize rock chips. Shot me a PM and let me know if you ARE planning on painting your trim.

 

what are the trim rings made out of is it metal or plastic?

 

Plastic, can't be powercoated

as soon as I break down and remove my door handles... I will be bringing my headlight rings, door handles and my gascap to get painted. Am i worried about chipping? No, my bumper has more chips than any other car I have driven... kinda sucks but oh well. Oh yea I think I will be having a trick up my sleeve on another gascap.
Only thing holding me back is that this is my daily driver and don't want to screw up the door handles
