New owner: Q about "stick on" bra

Hello, all. My wife and I bought an '03 Chili Red MC yesterday and we are loving it TO DEATH! Seriously. I'm glad I never drove one when I didn't have the money to buy it or I would've driven myself insane (no pun intended). It sold itself in about 20 seconds. Anyway...

A question...there seems to be a bra sticker on the front. I've done a search and have seen many references to clear stick-on bras, but this one seems to be red like the car. Did the car come with it? Can I and should I remove it?

Thanks.

Happy motoring.

Welcome to NAM

What does it look like. Is your car red and you looking at Clear Bra (which is transparent)? If so, you got Clear Bra. I wouldnt remove it because is protects the front end. If you want to, it does come off, I htink you heat it up to 150 and grab an end and start pulling. ... use hair blower? dont know for sure.

If it IS a ClearBra, keep it on as it will protect your front end from rock chips and other road debris thrown onto the bumpers and bonnet.

I can't really tell if it's clear or not. It looks just like badly oxidized paint to me. At first I thought it was, but when I took a closer look it turned out to be a sticker. Whatever it is, it was put on by a pro. It is perfectly straight and level. That's why I was wondering if it may have come from the dealer with it.

The dealer can install clearbra. I preferred to have it done by someone else, since it was cheaper. I like having it on the car, knowing it is protecting the paint from rock chips.

Some MINIs seem to end up with a lot of small dings for some reason, especially on their noses. Might be the paint quality, might be the shape of the noses... I don't think there's a NAM consensus. It doesn't seem to be universal -- my '03 MINI's finish scratches if I look at it wrong; a friend of mine has an '03 MINI with a near perfect finish. Anyhow, a lot of second-time MINI buyers slap a clearbra on their cars ASAP.

If the clearbra is still in good shape, I'd leave it on.
