One touch UP - can it be done?

Manual says that Driver side window should have One touch Up function. It does not work on mine and dealer says that it does not exist,,,,,what's the deal?

Welcome to NAM, schernov. The MINI has one touch DOWN, but not UP. A MINI owner, Ian Cull, made a one-up mod for the MINI, but I believe he just recently sold the last one.

Let me second that welcome and add that Ian is currently in negotiations with a company to continue producing the auto-up window circuits. With any luck, they should be available in the future to anyone who wants one. Keep your fingers crossed.

Ian got burnt out on producing the circuits but there is some hope that he will be able to get some help in producing them again.

Sure, there's Ian's magical auto-up module. But alas, our new colleague schernov want's a ONE touch up, and Ian's requires TWO toggle flips to activate.
According to Ian they should be available near year's end.

Ahhh... but there's a super-secret trick you can do to get Ian's circuit to do ONE touch up.

Jock, all I can tell you is I followed those 6 steps and my windows are one touch up. My guess would be yes, as far as ignition being off, since Step 2 says to turn it off.

Wish I could help more, but it's been a long time since I had to do this.

As far as I know, nothing on the circuit works if the ignition is off. The installation instructions tell you to turn the ignition to "on" when it's time to activate the circuit. I've installed about 12, and always turned the car on to activate.

It's true. You really DO learn something new every day!
I'm sticking with the double-tap, but that is a cool super-secret trick. It used to be, anyway.

Certain information is NEVER supposed to be generally published and available on the web ...

... now I'll have to reprogram every module to prevent someone following this then complaining to the future MINI circuit seller

If you could edit your earlier post and remove the relevant info, and if Jock could edit his and remove the quoted copy, then we will be back at a position where the info is not public - and I hope I can trust those on this thread that grabbed a copy to keep it offline everywhere ...
Doing this will significantly help me if I don't have to reprogram the 128 PICs I just programmed yesterday!

Thanks to all if you can comply with this.
