windshield molding attachments...

This isn't a mod, but I guess that people in this forum could answer a question: How do I get the molding at the base of my windshield back in place? I tried just pushing it down onto the plastic retaining pieces, but it doesn't stay. The retainers don't appear to be damaged, and I don't know how the strip got loose- I just noticed it while washing the car today. If anyone would take the time to answer this, I would really appreciate it. I wouldn't like to see this chrome strip flying away as I go down the freeway! -Jeffy.

I had a similar problem with the rear window and the drip guard molding around it. It would not snap back into place no matter what. I decided to let the MINI dealer do it, since I didn't want to accidentaly crack the window by pressing too hard.

They ended up replacing the piece with a new one.
