gauge pod install

I bought an Outmotoring.com gauge pod - my dealer is quoting me five hours to install the part - $515 to install the parts. I'm a bit shocked at that price. Does that sound right?!?

Naturally they are going to sock it to you. You didn't buy the official JCW part and pay the JCW price.

I would have bought the Mini version - if it had a stinkin' oil pressure gauge.

According to Steve's Auto Clinic they are about $400 high.

I would look for a local club. I bet that they have someone in the club that would do the install for little to nothing. Most MINI folk love to get together and talk cars. A Tech Meeting sounds like the right thing to do!

Make a roadtrip to South Philly (I have a place down there I can use) and I'll help you install it for free. I'll teach you only if you wanna learn. Or if you want me to install it I'll do it for $125.

I installed my Promini boost and oil pressure gauge myself and it took a few hours.

THe parts are expensive, though...

Here are some pics.
